As I read from the Prem League website Gomes indeed made a massive mistake but also saved a few good ones including a great save. So, maybe little redemption there?

It may be me trying to defend him since I have a soft spot for Heurelho, but he was so great at PSV that I'll still give him the benefit of the doubt these days. But I can't deny his miserable, miserable form. I hope he steps up soon.

I'll see his howler tomorrow on MOTD anyway. :thumb:

"it was a disappointing day. We started in second gear and suddenly looked like we were getting into the game until we gifted them a goal. It was a farcial goal, but he's my goalkeeper. He's got to do the job. His record at PSV Eindhoven tells you he was a world-class goalkeeper. He made some great saves after the goal, so I have got to keep believing in him and stay with him. Fulham started sharper than we did and deserved the win. Their front two Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson were excellent. They gave us problems. I brought Aaron Lennon on to try and give us some width but things didn't happen for us today. We also look vulnerable from corners at the moment which is a problem."

Redknapp being a good loser there :thumb: Respect

^^unlike a certain other manager.

I feel sorry for Gomes. He made a few blunders towards the start of the season and has never recovered after them. He looks nervous now every time the ball comes near him. I dunno whether Redknapp will keep faith in him though. Shay Given and David James are linked with Spurs.

Man City paid 18 million for Jo was it? Thats unbelievable. He is absolutely rubbish.

Ireland is a class act. outstanding again today.
Give him time. One thing about over here we don't give players time at all. Jo looks out of place right now, but he has alot of talent.

Alot of people I know were writing off Tevez and Mascharano when West Ham bought them. My Arsenal buddy was saying Henry was awful when he joined Arsenal. Give players time to adapt to here, alot of players who hit the ground running quickly run out of steam I.E Elano.

i suppose. good point but Jo looks average from what i have seen so far.

Yea Gerrard is still feeling the effects of that "dive" against Atletico :)

Keane is out for the Ireland match as well. Ill be damned if i watch that borefest on wednesday-Ireland v Poland.

no he wont play anymore. its sickening. noone really knows why.

Keane and McGeady are injured and Trap wont pick Andy Reid so that leaves us with very little. Reid and Trapattoni are supposed to have fallen out.

Look like Stephen Reid is out for another long time. That guy is always injured. very good player when fit though.

Yea there was rumours that some of the players were mocking his hairstyle. Not because he was going bald but because he had some wig or something on last season. Remember when his hair was all of a sudden long? I reckon it was just a bit of banter though. If they did force him out though by bullying him then they are the greatest pack of fuckers ever. Its not often we get a player with this kind of talent. I think some players were on his back over the whole "dead grandmother" incident last year as well.

And he is from Cork. they dont call it the rebel county for nothing. Thats where Roy Keane and Dennis Irwin are from as well.
