Also, update and another story:
Life is very unpredictable at times. Currently I am working at a Korean telecom that makes the world's fastest LTE networks, and fastest fiber optic broadband projects. I work on a big ass EU-funded infrastructure project, currently the biggest telecom project in Europe, I'm one of the managers for it.
But the senior manager I work with was moved here from sales dept.. The reason I mention him is because he contributed to making the Iphone enter the East-Asian market. This company was the first to sell it there, and now half of the people in Korea use Iphones. However, within company, it's not allowed (unless it's a secondary device for private use), even though we have lots of ipads and iphones at the office to give as gifts.
Koreans say that they perceive Iphones as more of luxury items, and that's why they sell so well, because they like items that are western and make them feel more rich and blend in, since they associate it as one of the most popular products of the western world, even though in reality their own Samsung sells better. That was an interesting perspective to hear.
That's the same reason my dad bought his iPhone again. The POS freezes occasionally when he tries to end a call on the dialer. And this is his iPhone 6. When he was getting it I was telling him to just get the M8 or something cheaper that looked expensive but he turned to my sister and said iPhone is best. Not sure what he sees in it and I'm sure his issue is a software issue but this guy needs to go back to a flip phone.

What do you lot think of the Mi Band for $13?

Very low-cost fitness band that does what other bands do.
Good, basic fitness band.
Monitors steps and sleep activity.
Decent design.
Battery lasts 30 days on a single charge.
Waterproof.
and more...

I believe there was an Exynos processor on the S2 and there was huge dev support for that, I ran CM on it flawlessly back in 2011/2012. Galaxy S devices tend to sell in such huge numbers that there's always dev support. If there's a big problem then dev groups will put up bounties for the first person to solve it.

Yeah, that seems to end up happening. I just haven't paid attention to other phones since my S3, but I assumed big releases had enough support to eventually get over speed bumps. Locked bootloaders still sometimes seem to be the issue.

Then a possible N8 http://www.slashgear.com/huawei-nexus-8-is-this-googles-future-27370849/

The Edge (supposedly) looks pretty good but is it necessary or more to show off pushing boundaries? http://bgr.com/2015/02/27/galaxy-s6-edge-leaked-pictures/

I think the S6 looks great. HTC is pulling a Samsung now and the M7-9 all look the same. At least the S6 switched it up making the phone look and feel more solid.

I'm betting the S6 has the better hardware too. I think I read that it blew all the others out of the water in the benchmarks but that doesn't always mean much.

Apparently the S6 uses a new type of emmc memory technology, meaning the read/write speeds are 3 or 4 times faster than any competitor. If that's the case, you will definitely notice that in day to day use.

Yeah, I read something about that too. This isn't something that Samsung sends over to Apple, is it? I know it is/was the chipset now the GPU or something. Screens were in there somewhere as well. Basically, with the 6S get the same treatment later this year?

I uninstalled Hangouts and saw a huge gain in battery life. Like, by the hours. Even when I was signed out, it was fucking around somewhere and kept waking up my phone, so I uninstalled it completely using TiBU and now I have it OC'd to 1.8 Ghz on a Performance governor on SetCPU and still get a day's use while on LTE. It's great.

Might not be a big deal if you don't use Hangouts like I did. It was basically Whatsapp for me, where I could answer on my phone or computer and I liked that convenience. But I have been cutting ties (another story) and so Hangouts isn't used as often. I just have one group chat with college friends, but they all have jobs now so I can handle just posting once in the morning and once at night as opposed to continuously throughout the day.

But yeah, Hangouts just isn't quite there yet when it comes to being efficient.

Is Falcon Pro still the best Android Twitter app? I don't tweet, but I feel like I've been blind to the competition for so long, maybe someone has a nice UI or something, which makes reading and switching between lists easier.

This is the first I've heard of this site, but it seems like a decent review, along the lines of Anandtech.

http://laptopmedia.com/reviews/sams...innovations-in-a-beautiful-body/#battery-life

Battery life may become as big of a factor as screen res and camera for me in the future, and it just seems that the larger form factor of the Note 4 allowing for a bigger battery is the only reason to go for it over the others.

And I didn't realize the N6 battery was this shit.

Falcon Pro released a completely new app, Falcon Pro 3, rather than an update, he remade the app from scratch adhering to all of Google's new "Material Design" style. It's REALLY nice, especially on Lollipop (don't know if it works on earlier versions).

No, it doesn't work on older ones, I don't think. I'm not a fan of Material Design either and my variant of the S3 doesn't have a fully functional ROM as yet for 5.0+.
I figured I'd end up upgrading by the time camera issues are fixed on the CM version.

OxygenOS doesn't look that bad, it's similar to a stock Android experience - so I will still consider getting the OnePlus Two if it's going to be easier to get one (than it was to get the OnePlus One) - but it needs more functionality like CM 11S had. Maybe there will be CM 12S for it.
