Kinda funny he would say this. Isn't the Iconia one of the best tablets out there right now?

Well, Acer was a shit company when this dude ruled them, really :p Terrible quality and management.
They are able to come up with a successful series here and there (some laptops, a tablet) only since the founder (the dude behind this article) retired. Back then they only went big because of their price. The founder had connections with some of the cheapest Taiwanese factories and electronics manufacturers.
I don't recall a single successful model that would sell for reasons other than price. People would complain and buy Acer again because of the price.
But for the last few years they are building their name into something better for example with TimelineX laptops, Iconia tablets and a few other less significant series that are made much better than anything that they would release back then. I guess now their goal is to keep up with their main competition - Asus.

I see. I assumed when they said "founder" in the article title, it meant he was still there.

I always thought of them as a shitty brand. I even said it once and someone said otherwise. I've had experiences with them twice, one desktop and one notebook. Fucking things suck!

my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop was a great product. Just a shame the power circuit blew out and affected the motherboard.

I sold it on for spares. I purchased it for £400, just over a year later I sold it for £90. Was very well looked after, almost as if brand new. Still had the protective sealing on it. I think i still maybe could've gotten more for it.

i like acer though. I was considering getting a monitor from them. But i'm still looking out for one. I'll wait until I move into my new room. No rush. And Acer are becoming a more reputable company with products that I believe are having greater quality year on year.

I remember masta posting a statistical chart of reliable products and customer satisfaction of products from various companies.

Yeah, ASUS is the best PC manufacturer out there. When I make comparisons, whether it be on specs or price or looks, I use Lenovo and ASUS against Apple. I have seen a good bit from a company called "MSI" but I am not sure on their quality. They seem new?

Not sure if we are talking computer parts, desktop / laptop solutions or what, but MSI have some good quality stand-alone components. Their Twin Frozr series of overclocked Geforce cards have been getting good reviews up against other manufacturers of the same card. I'm getting my video card from Gigabyte, but I'm getting an Asus motherboard.

my ASUS capture card is amazing. I agree with the Acer stuff, I used to hate them like I hate eMachines, but they've made some impressive improvements recently.

Btw, I wasn't clear, but MSI aren't new at all. They've been doing motherboards for like a decade that I know of, so I assume other components as well.

For parts imho it's Gigabyte and Msi>Asus>>>>>others but Asus creates some of the best motherboards.

For laptops it's Lenovo, Sony and Asus depending on the model. Asus has some of the best cheap, mid and high end laptops, Lenovo and Sony mid and high end laptops.

I'll try to find that chart.
