You should probably just buy a new one. Get this fucked up one to work for thirty seconds so you can show the person you're selling it to that it works and get it out and use it towards a new one.

If you're just willing to buy a new one then you can try overheating your current xbox then. Wrap it in a towel for a few minutes till it overheats. There's a chance for the RROD or at least the E74 which is also under the 3 year warranty.

Yeah, the RRoD was extended to three years after purchases date. Everything else is one year.

I've heard of people doing what Masta said above and got it to work. You really need to get it to overheat without catching it on fire or something, and getting the code for the RRoD. Masta said E74? Something like that. They will fix it then.

Look on YouTube and see how people induced the RRoD.

^^i tried a couple of things. i kept turning it on an off over and again because i read that doing that might eventually get you 3 red rings. but it didnt work so i just went and bought a new one.

i just got a new xbox 360 elite with a 250 gb hard drive. It was the special edition Final Fantasy one. i got it for 160 euros which was the best deal i could find.

@Bobby: wow, an awesome deal.

^No, it shuts itself down before overheating. Of course there's still some risk of hardware malfunction but it's been minimized and there are many more prevention systems than with the old Xbox360. Not to mention better air circulation and generating less heat. You shouldn't worry about it.

A friend of mine replaced his old xbox360 with this new Slim and while personally I'm not a fan of that black, shiny plastic I have to say that overall it works better. Better build quality, better fans that are very quiet and it's smaller. Looks more like a media center than a gaming console.
There's also a 4gb version coming out which will replace the old "Arcade" version. If you don't have a habit of downloading demos and DLC or installing games then it's a pretty great thing considering its price.

sorry didnt read Mastas post lol

yea it was a good deal. its a limited edition Final Fantasy bundle. it was 200 euros but i was able to knock all that off the price because i could exchange the controllers and other accessories of my original xbox against it.

and i had a 20gb hard drive on my other xbox and the only game i ever downloaded from marketplace was Doom. the space taken up on the hard drive was something like 12gb mainly from save games i think. so 4GB isnt enough imo.

also you should consider buying some of the games on marketplace. some real gems on there like Shadow Complex

The new Slim 360 with the Wifi included doesn't get RROD's, right? Because I want one.
A new Xbox 360 bundle is to hit the shelves alongside Kinect as the existing 250GB console is going to be packaged up with the sensor and Kinect Adventures.

It's scheduled to hit shelves on November 4 in the US with a price tag of $399.99, while the UK will be getting it on November 10 for £299.99.

Before the announcement, the only other Kinect bundle was with the 4GB console for $299.99 (£249.99), and the standalone sensor comes in at $149.99 (£129.99).

is it possible that a hacker could disconnect you from xbox live?

the reason i ask is because i was playing mW2 today. i noticed two assholes boosting so i kept hunting them down and disrupting their killstreaks. this continued for about 4 free for all games. then in the Invasion the two fuckers went to the area where all those jeeps are to start boosting so i followed them over and was about to approach them when it started to lag and then i got disconnected from the game and xbox live. This happened an hour ago. i couldnt sign back in. then when i did sign back in i got disconnected again immediately. my internet connection is fine and i rarely get disconnected from xbox live. so im wondering if these assholes hacked me somehow knocking offline?

Yeah, they can do that. Why would try and break their circle jerk up? Best thing to do is just leave their lobby and find another one.

^^because its fun lol.

i love hunting them down and ruining their killstreaks by launching the javelin at them. i wait until they get 6 kills so they cant get the tactical nuke.

i guess these guys got the last laugh though. it seems to be ok today anyway.
