Zab Judah, first shock of 2006 boxing!

#1
''undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah, from Brooklyn, said he would not disappoint the crowd at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in his bout with Baldomir, a 34-year-old from Argentina, for the World Boxing Council welterweight championship.

Judah (34-3, 25 knockouts) apparently did not follow his own advice, and boos emerged from the capacity crowd after the fourth round. Judah lost a unanimous decision - 115-113, 114-113, 115-112 - demonstrating that, in boxing, home-ring advantage does not count for much.''

Did anyone catch this one??? I think it serves Judah right for not preparing properly, he blamed Don King for making him do loads of promotion which tired him out.

Funny fight just because we were treated to another silly Judah dance in the 7th. Disapointing cos i was looking forward to the Judah v Mayweather bout in april. They will probably still get it on if the money is right.

Yeh no coverage over here, i got a download. I don't think Judah is as amazing as he thinks he is but he was expected to beat this dude. Oh well ,always funny to see the underdogs win.

I saw the fight & despite Judah getting the beat down in the seventh round, I thought he was gonna win on the score cards.
But, when Baldomir won I wasn't too surprised cause he never backed down & I wished he would of paid the sanctioning fees so he can unify the WBA & IBF belts. His purse was $100,000, the fees was $20,000.

I'm tired of this South American favoritism in Boxing, shit is sad. Probably the most corrupt sport there is.
Sorry bout that it has ntohing to with the fight but whatever, shit is dumb. I think Zab is still going to fight Mayweather though.

I honestly think that ricky hatton will beat both them!! Your probally thinking he has no chance against floyd? I wanna see floyd under pressure for 3 mins a round, which is what hatton will do to him! Ricky will rough him up, and beat him.

Agreed hatton can do floyd , Hatton is relentless and can do it for 12 rounds, it will be a very interesting fight. Floyd is good no question, but hes never been under pressure like that. Hatton next opponant will be gatti tho i reckon, floyd took him out easy but styles make fights and that will be a good one but Ricky will have too much.

Yep i agree, but it will be a very tough fight for both fighters. Like you said styles make fights, and no way will ricky have as easy a night as what floyd did with gatti! But ricky will come out on top.

Could actually be one of the best fights of 2006.:)

You have to be kidding. Baldomir won the fight. I was just surprised that they didnt give Judah the fight since he was the home fighter and he had multi-million dollar fight against Mayweather. Judah was doing the chicken dance again in the 7th round.

Did you miss the, "sorry about that it has nothing to do with this fight." I know he won, I was saying in general, ask anyone affiliated with boxing, it is very corrupt and favors any South American fighter because that is where they are located, simple.

As for Hatton and Mayweather, Hatton is no joke. Only thing is, with him constantly attacking Floyds ability to counter might hurt Hatton. It's almost like that's the type of fighter Mayweather would want to fight. I think it would be a great fight going either way.

I see Zab fighting him first though, more money to be made.
