(is there any reason why a lightly-used board limits itself to a single thread discussing nba basketball?)

game 1 kicks off in just six precious hours at the staples center. i haven't been this excited before a series since cavs/wizards in 06 and a finals series since lakers/pacers.

is jameer nelson coming back or not? who needs to step up for their team to win? i'm paying special attention to lamar odom and rashard lewis tonight.

I have to go with my Lakers. Been with them before Shaq and Kobe. They are more focused than I have ever seen them. Lamar will have to get 20+ points this game and he knows that. He stepped up big in the last two games. I think they Lakers know exactly what they have to do to win. Jameer coming back will not be a good idea. You can't just jump right back into Finals basketball.

But neither are playing at an adequate PG level. Turkoglu is more of a point guard than both combined.

As much as Id like Orlando to win, I think the Lakers have this. At the end it will come down to experience.

Game 4 thoughts: Derek Fisher had another game that Lakers fans will always remember. While reading 'forum blue and gold' some minutes before the game tying three pointer, some Lakers fans referred to Fisher as 'the worst point guard in history to ever play in the NBA finals'.

Good to see plenty of them came back on and apologized for making such radical claims. :D

And yes, I think with this win the Lakers are through.

I'd love it if LA wrap it up in game 5, with a confidence boosted Fisher.

Somehow I get the feeling ESPN were rooting for the Magic ever since their pet Cavs got knocked out of the playoffs. Their bias is always clear for everyone to see.
