ok, well, i've been having problems with my comp's dvd drive...at first i thought it couldnt recognize DVD+'s, so i went out and bought -'s....piece of shit still doesnt work...my computer completely stopped responding, the cd drive wouldnt open.....wow...im really pissed...anyone know what i can do??

the drive says DVD in huge fuckin letters.....says DVD R/RW...bought this comp in the summer of 02, so i doubt its that obsolete, at least as far as the disc drives go.....is there some program that checks if this little douche bag is working right?

well, i feel kinda stupid.....turns out i havent updated my computer in...4 years....

sony, the manufacturer of my comp has been releasing updates periodically through their website, which i had no idea about....i thought windows update took care of everything....apparently not....it took not one, but two updated drivers to fix my dvd drive....it all worked out though...burning NFS most wanted right now, and its looking good...it actually read the cd when i put it in....

so yeah, thanks for the help, it all worked out...4 years of suffering and itwas a simple 3 meg download...wow...
