Yankees acquire Al Leiter from the Marlins

i got this news this morning @ 3AM from email from Yankees.com

"Al Leiter's career came full circle on Saturday, as the veteran left-hander was traded to the Yankees, the team that drafted him in 1984.

Leiter was acquired from the Florida Marlins along with cash considerations in exchange for a player to be named later. Leiter, who was designated for assignment by Florida on Thursday, will take the mound for the Yanks on Sunday night in the series finale against the Red Sox. The game starts at 6:05 p.m. "

why are all the Yankees care about is getting more aged cheddar for the starting rotation and then they will probably give contract extension and next year they get injured or something...im glad this happened to show how dumb they were to let Pettitte leave...but at least now they are catching up to Red Sox!! :D

well.. he's 3-7 with a 6.64 ERA so far this season. Clearly, these aren't great numbers, but his experience, dedication and past winning experiences will help the Yankee's for sure in my opinion.

Tony Womack perhaps? Yanks have been wanting to get rid of him.
Usually, a player to be named later means a young prospect not your regular second baseman and for Leiter i don't know if it's a good deal the only thing to understand is that the Bronx Bombers have 4 regular pitchers on the disabled list, that explains the move.

since they usually have Leiter on Fox during the postseason...he probably will be there and that means the Yankees will make quick exit in the playoffs and the good part is he starts against Red Sox so he will have good analysis of them now that will be useful for October :thumb:
