Like most of my threads this is really just a thought that popped in my head that I decided to post. I didn't think it through and I wrote it down as simple as possible.

By now we've all heard about or noticed the changes in climate and we know what's in store for us. Once the climate changes really start fucking things up there will be refugees in numbers we've never experienced before. I don't think the countries that aren't completely fucked will be very welcoming and the borders will be closed. Enter a survival of the fittest scenario, mass chaos erupts around the world.

Or is this too unrealistic?

If WWIII does come about and certain things seem to be leading up to it, it won't be because of a climate change.

Haha that movie did pop in my head after I thought of this. It probably was in the back of my mind subconsciously. That movie is my wet dream, except for that woman getting pregnant. Die human beings, die!

lmao

Hearing Bush say it in my head makes it even funnier.

I wanted to hear some more politically aware (since I don't care) people tell me how unrealistic this was but now this thread is derailing

Proceed though.

All I can say is, sure, chaos will erupt as the climate gets worse and there's more food shortages and ppl lose their homes. That'll happen anyway in the US due to the economy collapsing in a few years.

With the state of religion, the state of how the economy is on a global level and the state of man-kind in general ww3 is merely being delayed until we die and rather our children and children's children will have the burden of death and pain on their shoulders. Someone will push the button and when it does the flood gates to hell will open.

Have a nice day :)

not at all, if the climate changes the way some fear it will, there will be major consequences on the social structur of our human lifes - everything is possible if the climat change really starts to fuckin things up.

I believe the scenario you described is highly realistic. i don't consider myself among those politically knowledgable people whose opinions you sought, so that's not an opinion based upon knowledge, but what i can tell you is that my opinion is probably worth just as much as that of any expert. why? because this is not a problem that we as a modern human society have had to deal with in the past. any guess is as good as any other. taking into account what you know about the human species, you could ask yourself what you think people are gonna do immediately after any sort of governing authority becomes obsolete. if you can steal instead of purchase and get away with it, why even consider purchasing? the western countries on the northern hemisphere are all gonna be set back to the stone age. essentially we'll all be developing countries. norway, which today is one of the richest countries in the world, is gonna become another third world country.

i am seriously considering getting a real citizenship in another country now already, so i'm sure there won't be any problems in the future if global warming kicks off lol. i really don't speculate a lot on this because i have already become one with the notion that global warming will cause mass riots, famine and lots and lots of death.

i'm like you, i feel that most of humankind deserves it, it just sucks that i happen to live in one of the areas that are gonna feel it. this is a fucked up thing to say, but most people in the third world already live under such fucked circumstances that the change will be a lot smaller for them maybe. some third world citizens may even feel a rise in their life quality. the western world is probably gonna cease to be a thing that we have a name for ("the western world") when global warming becomes reality.

these are all my own speculations though. you're right, your title's no good because it is an issue that i would say is seperate from the peace situation in the world today. something that involves the middle east somehow is waiting to happen, and since the middle east is a region where so many countries are involved in so many ways and there are so many shady and/or intricate relationships rooted in the middle east, it's safe to say that there are a lot of potential problems that could arise if one of the middle eastern countries decide to take matters into their own hands. basically i don't think a third world war in the middle-eastern region and around it is something we should immediately dismiss. i don't really have a lot of hard facts on the various situations in the various countries down there, i just know there is a lot of turbulence.

ww3 will be about oil or water.

i don't think ww3 is an appropriate title for this thread's topic. the scenario you are painting is realistic though regarding climate changes. it will change everything.

I think ww3 is happening now, only on a subdued level - like it's brewing backstage.

I envision the demise of the earth like that of an animals carcass in the wild - the dead animal becomes a place for maggots to feed, the maggots reproduce and eat more ... they all fighting to get a piece of meat ... they all eat until there is nothing left, then they go all hannibal like and start eating each other ... still fighting, untill its just one big maggot-fest. Eventually everyone on the carcas dies and there is left remnants of a place uninhabitable.

That is the worst case scenario given to us by the IPCC. Other worst case scenarios given to you by me would be - A Close Encounter of The Worst Kind. A comet filled with Anthrax. Michael Moore making a movie about Global Warming. Sitting through a 3 hour lecture about the O-zone. Richard Branson's T-Rex clones escaping and eating Spielberg alive. A massive volcanic eruption in Yellowstone, leading us into an ice age, and worst of all, leaving glassy ashy residue on my car. Hard to get off.

Well, there ya go.
