Technology WTF? Fuck iTunes. Help Me Please

Man iTunes fucked me over. I was importing all of my songs to play them in their library. It was taking way too long to import everything and it was important things I didn't want anyway (I just did C: ). So I cancelled so that I could just go folder by folder. Anyway, it stopped what it was doing and loaded the files it did. I clicked ctrl+a to highlight all songs to delete from the library. A notification popped up asking me if I wanted to delete songs from my library and something else, I clicked yes. Then it asked me if I wanted to send them to the recyling bin, I clicked no. When I clicked no, it did nothing. Every song was still in the library. So I said fuck it, let's just send it to the recycle bin and then restore files from there. Well when I did that, only like 20 songs were in the Recycle Bin. I checked my hard drive and 5Gigs were cleared up. I tried to do a restore point, but Windows says I can't do that because I lost files.

WHAT THE FUCK? Someone explain what happened, if there is any retreival or just help me period.

Thanks.

I don't know if there's a retrieval point or not...

But this is probably what happened--when you have songs on your hard drive and you choose to play them in ITunes, a copy is made to your Itunes folder and Itunes plays that. For some reason the damn program is incapable of playing anything not it its library.

When you delete, it deletes the stuff within the library folder. If the OG copy is no longer existent, that's it.

I wouldn't know what to tell you except I hope you have some backup copy of this/your songs on your IPOD. If they are on your IPOD, all you gotta do is just stream the songs (and this will be the slow-ass part) to a new mp3 file while the thing is connected to your comp, and that should be helpful.

Again, it will take long as hell though, as you will have to play every single song at least once all the way through to get a proper copy. IF they were on your ipod, that is.

Good luck.

I made a back up of everything on my computer to discs back in May. I have most of my files on there so it's no big deal besides the fact that it will take the whole day to put everything back, but that's just retarded if it fucked me over like that. I don't have an iPod for the record. Also, I chose the option not to do a copy in the iTunes folder. I just did it straight from the folders they originated.

Itunes is gay, if you use it for ipod use winamp and get the ipod plugin from winamp.com, you can manage playlist easier and add individual tracks instead of it being full of unwanted music like itunes.
