first let me just say that firefox still doesn't let me sign into hotmail :/ it signs in but at one point either before or during the sign-in, the page turns white.

second off, let me write a little parahraph about how much i hate wireless technology:

i fucking hate wireless technology. just like it's hard to believe in something that bleeds for six days and doesnt die, it's hard to believe in something that is so FUCKING UNSTABLE!!! GRRR ¤/#"¤/"#¤%&%¤&":mad::mad: i am about to fucking SMASH my fucking piece of shit router. it keeps disconnecting me from the network every now and then, recently; often rather than seldom, thus making me lose my connection to the internet. IT DOES THIS FUCKING ALL THE TIME. disconnects me from the network and then connects me back on after a second. WHY DOES IT FUCKING HAVE TO DO THIS? WHY? there is no purpose. my card drivers are installed fine, router has never been treated bad. i dont get it. WHY can't it just fucking stay on the network so i don't have to sign back onto msn and aim and whatever else, and reload all the pages that didnt load. FUCK. it got even worse after i got tired of the motherfucker and hit the damn router three times as hard as i could with my fist. it's not fucked but it's worse. grrr. cablez rewl.

now onto my question. whenever i launch msn messenger, windows messenger launches with it. i dont let either two load during the start up, i manually click the msn 6.0 icon after my windows has completed loading. i opened windows messenger and disabled everything in the options so it's not allowed to run in the background, start with windows, nothing. yet it still loads up in my tray whenever i open msn messenger. WTF? :|

if you have bluetooth anywhere close by,or even on the computer you're using, then disable it.

if you have cordless phones around, unplug them.

wireless runs over numbered channels,if you pickup another network within 2 channels of yours it will interfere.

see if that works.

why dont you give me the namebrand and exact model number of your wireless card and router.

it could be that you just need to upgrade drivers because sometimes that helps.

theres a few things you can try.

Click start >Run >services.msc {enter} locate the “Wireless Zero Configuration” Service, right click it select “Stop”. Right click it again select properties and change its startup type to disabled.

check to see if it fixed the problem,if not,try this

Go to My network places and go to the properties of the wireless network card. On the “Wireless Networks” Tab click Advanced > Power Management > un-tick the default tick box and move the slider all the way up.

if none of these help, then let me know

i just remembered something. to make sure you stay connected to your router do this

First open “My Network Places” , this will be on the start menu or desktop.

Click “View Network Connections”, you should see your wireless network card, right click it and select properties. Select the “Wireless Networks” tab, and press the configure button.

In the SSID box type the SSID for the device you are trying to connect to (they are CaSe SenSiTiVe) (check the router manual/documentation for the SSID)

if there is a network close by,this will tell the wireless card to only connect and stay connected to your router

i didnt really want to remove it, just disable it. but i didnt think of that though, so yeah thanks, that works lol.

and i already got msn 7.0. did i say 6.0? if i did i meant 7.0 :p

---

i tried doing the services.msc thing so we'll see if that works. the router is upstairs, as is the documentation, so i can't get that info until tomorrow cause people are asleep. i believe it's a jensen wireless router II though. i have the manual on cd so if i can find the ssid for it i'll try that too. i don't really have a wireless card, it's a usb thing. a siemens usb 54 something. i've been thinking maybe that's it, that usb wireless devices are crap. who knows lol.

there are no other wireless devices any closer than perhaps the neighbours house which is maybe 100 feet in a straight line from where the router is. the only other wireless devides around my house would be perhaps the remote to the tv or my cell phone lol. and i bet they don't interfere as the tv is hardly ever on, and cell phones use a radio frequency, right?
