Hey guys,

I was wondering, if I get DSL on my desktop computer. Would I be able to connect to the internet via a Wireless Lan connection on my notebook as well if I have a router (sp?)

I have a router now, and I have wireless capabilities on my notebook, so how would that work?

Any and all information is truly appreciated, and I'll rep all those who help me out.

Thanks in advance,
Much Luv and Respect

Yes if you have you have wireless on your laptop all you need is a wireless router, routers are pretty easy to setup, you just plug your modem in and the software will auto detect any devices then you just allow the connection on your laptop. I bought a new laptop on Saturday and set my wireless up in like 5 mins.

You will have to find out which router is the best for your pc/isp
if you go to a pc store and tell them they would pick out one for you.

If you have 2 desktop computers in your house can you use a router to have internet on both?

well, does your laptop have built in wireless capabilities?? if not, you need that pc card, and then you're set to go....you get a network as well as internet access through that so you can share info between the three computers.....as long as they're on the same networkk

wireless or not wireless? router permits internet on more than 1 computer.

Yep.

I can connect 4 Computers via patch cables and up to 1000 (I think, some dumb number anyway) wireless. I don't bother with cables though, a wirless card is £20 and it looks tidier.

Okay, so when I do this, am I going to have to have the DSL signed on at all times on my desktop in order to sign onto my notebook?

Oh yeah, thanks and repd, except for Carmi, I still have to spread rep around before giving it to you again :(
