Thanks to Amara for posting this for me, but it was closed! Bah! Come on, make an exception for me, its me!

Anyway, since moving Ive killed 2 computers. I cant find my Windows XP CD because Im still living out of boxes so Ive borrowed Amara's, its a retail hologram CD so all good.

Anyway, after installing Win XP I get asked to activate it. This by far is the worst feature of Windows XP, it really is a denial of service attack by Microsoft and is technically illegal. If I activate it using Amara's CD key, it will take a snapshot of my computers hardware and wont allow her to use her CD ever again; something I cant do to her.

Soooo.... I need a crack to remove the activation pop up. I know its out there but I can install any service packs without it and feel very valunrable so please someone help me!

I have a serial, I have an authentic serial, thats not the problem. Windows XP is asking me to authenticate it online, which means they store it as "used" in their database, something I dont want them to do.

hmm i am not that well up on warez but why not pop to a virgin record store ( they stock windows xp) buy it and then return it- that way you will not have to break the protection on the cd case- so when they check the product they will see it has not been opened. however obviously take the pin code- that way you get a fresh pin that no- one else has used. also if they give you vouchers just keep them till november and use them to pick up an xbox 360. Thats what i did with all my software- of not good luck on finding a different way

There is a software that allows you to bypass activation or fools into thinking you activate it but you wont be able to update your computer, because you will need to verify now your cd-key in which it will know you have a crack of it. So you will be lacking the updates microsoft puts out on tuesdays. As you know windows system is infested with worms and virii.

The only version that I know that does not require verification for cd-key is windows xp corporate edition in which I have. It is about 400 megs in size. You can probably find it on IRC.

How Can I Find Out my XP CD Key?

QUESTION:
Is there a way to retrieve the XP install key without having to deal with Microsoft. I have my original XP upgrade disk but not the case and the key was on the case. - D.R.

ANSWER:
The easiest way is to use a freeware recovery tool called RockXP, which allows you to retrieve the product key that you used when you originally installed XP, and as an added bonus, will let you recover usernames and passwords that are contained in the Windows Secure Storage. You can download it from the Snapfiles Web site at

How to Back up your Product Activation Files

Last week, we talked about reformatting the hard disk and reinstalling XP. But do you have to go through the whole product activation hassle again when you do that? Actually, there's a way around it. Before you wipe out the current installation, backup your product activation files and then you can restore them to the new installation. Here's how:

Right click Start and click Explore.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to \WINDOWS\System32\ (usually on the c: drive but may be on a different drive depending on where you installed XP).
Copy the following files to a floppy, CD or second hard disk: wpa.dbl, wpa.bak.
To restore the files, start the computer in Safe Mode and copy them to the same directory (\WINDOWS\System32).

You got it sorted yet? if not then i can hook you up with the activation killer...worked for my XP Pro SP2 so should be ok with you.

let's say u use that activation killer on xp service pack 1.....would i still be able 2 upgrade to service pack 2? Cuz during that process it asks me 2 run a validation program.
