Or am I missing something? Will be watching the game with my mate here, starts @ 1 a.m. something. Of course, everyone and their grandmother expect Brady Inc. to roll over the others, but I hope Giants put up a good fight.

Fuck. FUCK!!! FUUUUUUCK!!!

I won a total of 50$ on the heads or tails toss, first FG, first TD, rushing yards and lost 50$ on the winner.

Woah. I think a few people crazy enough to bet on NY just made a lot of money. :)

My thoughts as a NFL amateur-watcher:

The level of the game itself throughout wasn't spectacularly high. Both teams were rather solid, giving very little away and generally giving each other a hard time. There were brief moments of serious quality play, however. The second Patriot TD and those two last Manning passes, especially the one where he nearly got taken down and still managed that pass, were excellent.

Patriots started playing way too late. They barely had possesion first half and only when they were 10-7 down with 11 to go did they get their ass in gear.

Giants were solid throughout. Their defense was their strong suit, though they were helped by an inconsistent Patriot offense. I don't know enough about the game to know whether this was Brady's fault or the rest of his offense. My gut says both.
Manning wasn't consistent in the game but had a few brilliant moments that really made a difference.

Imo the Giants won deservedly on team effort and will to win. With the exception of the last 10 minutes, the Patriots never really looked like they'd do anything for that trophy and record win.

In the end it was a real final. Incredibly hyped, some thought it was already played and we'd better save us the trouble and give the trophy to the Patriots right away. In the end it was a hard fought game with relatively poor play, but boy was it exciting. :)

Your reply gets me thinking.

The people who one would consider "long time fans of the game" said things like:

"great fucking game"
"oh fuck what a game"
"that fucking game was sick"

So, it gets me thinking...If an "amateur-watcher" finds this game solid or not "spectacularly high" then...how boring do NFL games get?

I thought the game was very good. It turned out to be a very defensive game, that is why the casual watcher didn't like it, at least I think that is why. I'm so happy for Plaxico and Brandon Jacobs, so happy the Pats lost, fuck Eli still though it is easier to like him now. Laughin at anyone who thought the Giants had no chance..must not have watched the regular season game.

I watched half of it. The Patriots were winning 7-3 when i went to bed(it was late,i was tired and not bored) .It was my second time watching american football ever. Its a pretty good game. I dont like the constant breaks in play though. The commentator kept going on about this Brady guy but i think he ended up having a poor game didnt he?

damn, what an intense game. congrats to the New York Giants, and although it's still fuck Eli all day long, i have to give him credit, he played well. Tom Brady spent more time on his ass than he did on his feet, which is why they lost. the Giants finally found a way to crack that Pats O-line.

but the worst thing about the game: did you see the way Belichick left the field before the game was over? when the Pats turned it over with 2 seconds left, it seemed everyone thought the game was over. they even let the clock run down to zero before they reset it. everyone went back to the sidelines for the last kneel down of the game... except Belichick. he headed straight to the tunnel and left. that was low class. even my buddy who i watched the game with, who lives and breathes Patriots, thought it was a bitch move. what a poor loser.

Well, the game was good. The match itself was exciting and close. But the overall level of play wasn't brilliant at all. NY defense was the only thing that was strong and consistent all game long.

It's a lot like football (soccer) really :)
