Has anybody ever been able to look through some of the huge telescopes? I was able to look through them things at the Chabot Space & Science center in the Bay Area... At first I was amazed at how huge these telescopes were then what you were able to see.

If anybody lives near anything similar, you have to check it out if you haven't.

my high school had a telescope donated to it my junior year, i was in the first astronomy class we had

but our teacher was an old fart and we spent most of our time pissing him off instead of listening to him stutter his way through whatever points he was trying to make

I took descriptive astronomy last semester. I loved the class. My professor was the best I've had. Ended up with an A too, so that didn't hurt.

Everytime I look at the sun now I think, "600 million tons" (the amount of hydrogen that it uses every second).

Oh, and Bill Nye the Science Guy gave the last lecture. I'll always remember that.
