what if you were the leader of a country. the country doesnt matter, you can make one up if you feel the need. what if the country you are the leader of was attacked by a terrorist organization that was spread out across many different countries and was responsible for killing thousands maybe even tens of thousands of people. how would you respond as a leader?

what if you had to make a hard choice of killing or letting thousands of innocent people,that live in your country, die to save tens of thousands of innocent people. what would you do?

throw in some of your what ifs as well.

Killing or being killed is a pretty limited view isnt it? As a leader of a country I would hope to have a wider scope of vision than that - one that can see retaliation is fruitless. The choice shouldnt have to be who gets to live - no leader should have the right (no, actually if they were worthy of that status, they shouldnt have the desire) to take that from anyone. If they were a good leader they'd resolve issues at their core not stimulate them further with stupidity. The decision should be how to keep all people safe, not just some at the expense of others... thats ridiculous. The real question is how to prevent not how to retaliate.

of course no leader should have to make a choice like that, but some day someone might have too.
what if it was a situation like the movie "outbreak" were a whole town is infected with a fatal virus that spreads through the air? a virus that kills thousands of peoole over night and could whipe out a nation in a matter of weeks. in the movie the choice was to drop a bomb on a small populated town to destroy the virus and kill the infected people before it spreaded to a big city. thats not a situation that could be resolved with some sit downs. its a quick desicion choice a leader would have to make.

which i feel is something that happens in this day and age

i dont think the question can be answered so simply... theres too many situations and subplots behind this type of problem

well if i was a world leader, i wouldnt make enemies with terrorist groups, so they would hav no reason to attack me.

thats great, and yes i know how the movies goes. im trying to point out the situation in the movie and ask what would you do in that situation.

the answer doesnt have to be simple, go into detail if you have too.

can you consider a "Terrorist Organization" another countries military?
as they too can be spread out worldwide an create an aymosphere of terror, case in point the U.S. is occupying several countries at this time, Iraq, Afghstan, South Korea an anyone can argue we dont occupy South Korea all you want but a 30,000 plus troops for over 50 years is by all means a occupation, anyway back on subject, if it was me, i would use my every resource to ensure that the citizens of my nation were entitiled to continue their way of life, and if that means fighting the invaders till the last man, so be it! Historicly occupations never work so its enevitable that my cause or my countrymens cause would eventually prevail.
