Welcome Back Monday Mania

Welcome back, Monday mania

October 2, 2005

BY BLACKJACK BROWN

This Monday night, a new era begins in pro wrestling. We go back to the days of competition between two brands as TNA gets national TV coverage on Spike. We go back to the days of "Raw'' at home on the USA Network, where the line between appropriate and inappropriate is far blurrier than it was at Spike. And we go back to the days when WWE was putting on its best possible product every Monday night -- or at least for this week's show. On CNBC's "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch'' on Wednesday, Vince McMahon promised a top-shelf program filled with past and present champions and numerous surprises. If WWE is to get back to the heights it enjoyed in the late 1990s, this show will be a big reason why.

AROUND THE RING: Confirmed for Monday is a WWE title match between John Cena and challenger Eric Bischoff, Edge vs. Matt Hardy in a loser-leaves-"Raw'' ladder match, and Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle in a 30-minute iron-man match. ... The Dudley Boyz could be repackaged in TNA as Devon and Ray Deadly.

in one of the older articles like this i posted (probably about 2 or 3 weeks ago) they said austin is trying to comeback to wrestling (not full time) but maybe every now and then on raw and some ppv's. They said hes been training and everything. I dunno if hes gonna wrestle tomorrow night but hes trying to come back on a more stable basis and have a few matches here and there

Don't think he'll wrestle tonight, but it could be more than a one-off.

The first episode of TNA: Impact on Spike has been given mixed reviews. Some say they did a good job of introducing new viewers to the product, some said they didn't do enough to differentiate themselves from the WWE.

*SPOILERS*

"Team 3D", the former Dudley Boys, make their TNA debut tonight.

When they run through whats gonna be on the show its says "Stone Cold strikes" so itll probably just be a can of whoop ass deal.
But I remember JR saying in the Ross Report that he is working really hard to get in shape and that he thinks he has a few more matches left in him.

Looking Forward To Tonight, Anybody Know What SD Superstars Are Gonna Be At Raw Tonight?

I Enjoyed TNA Saturday, Even Though They Need Another Hour. I Like The Shirts The Dudleys Were Wearing "Trademark This" with A Middle Finger on the Back of The Shirt. They Ran A Good Show.

Batista, Rey, Benoit, JBl, Eddie and Christian. Most likely in a six-man-tag or a Six Pack Challenge.

Great show, for the RAW/Smackdown! brawl they did show it all. WWE had a stream in which when RAW went to commercials they would show what was happening when RAW is not on. In this case when RAW went off the air, they showed 5 more minutes of the brawl. RAW won the brawl. Batista piledrived Visera and then a faceoff ensued between Batista and the Big Show in which Show won.

Cripple H gain a couple of pounds. bwhahahah. This sets up a match between Crips and Flair. Also Matt Hardy will not go to TNA he will be sent to Smackdown!.

Overall it was a great show. The Austin segement was brilliant were all the McMahons (Stephs tits are amazing) got a stunner, and Cant wait for Austin vs Hogan :D

Hopefully the draw in the iron man match will lead to another match between them. ANd what about Vince saying someone is gonna get fired!

You Notice That To?, Trips had Him A Gut

That Was A Great Show, RAW Defintely Needed The Rock An The Undertaker Though. Rock Wouldve Made It Perfect. I Was Expecting Taker To Come Out During The Pipers Pit Segment.

Austin Stunning The McMahon Family Was Priceless. Steph Is Still Gorgeous, She Lost Some Weight There. Look At Her From Last Night, Then Put In The WM 21 DVD When She Was At The Hall Of Fame Ceremony, She Prolly Got Lipo. Ya'll Notice Linda Messed Up Her Part When Steve Stunned Her, She Went Down On Her Own.

Looks Like Matt Is On His Way Back To SD.(Anyways) RAW Was A Great Show, They Couldve Made The Main Event Better.

The return of triple H was great: he just made so clear again how good he is at what he does, and how much less the show is without him. Imo, he's one of the very few left that were as good as or comparable to austin and rock.

( let's face it; john cena and batista don't do the job like austin and rock did...by far..I think if they would still be full time wrestlers, batista and cena would be in the position christian -for example- is in now.)

Can't wait for the upcoming monday night raw; they NEED a good show to start off with on usa network (besides the homecoming)..I'm hoping for a good triple H promo :]

Maybe austin will be there again..

Was there any reason for Triple H to beat the shit out of a 56 year old man for, what seemed to me like, two hours straight? It was pointlessly long.

WWE is looking to replace Jim Ross in the forseeable future, so it was speculated that Vince would fire JR on RAW (the JR-Austin link gives him some kind of excuse), but the guy they were lining up as his replacement (his name's Mark Goldberg I think, he's a UFC commentator) turned down their offer. JR might still get canned, leaving Coach and King on commentary.

It's also likely that Vince will use Bischoff's actions (going behind Vince's back to change his match) as a way to bring in the Taboo Tuesday PPV next month. He can do a "You won't be making ANY decisions, because the fans will vote for what they want" kinda thing.

I want Shane back full-time.

Austin isn't keen on facing Hogan, not least of all because Hogan would not lose.

And the likes of Christian, Shelton and Benoit would be even further down the card. No thanks.

I'd Like To See Either Joey Styles or Tony Schiavone Be Brought In As A Commentator. Joey Would Probably Get The Job Before Tony.
Schiavone Prolly "Burned Bridges" with The WWE, when he was There In The Late 80's early 90's.
