Heya, this week Ill start to train really hard again. I plan to train MuayThai (Thai boxing) 5x a week (monday-friday) and once in a while Escrima on the weekends.

I now wonder if I can effectively add working out to my program. The problem is I would have to push weights in the morning/noon and certain body parts (triceps, legs,..) will be strained everyday, which is not helpful for buildup.

Also what about the use of creatine? I never used them, but I know they fasten the strength-gaining process, however I probably wont gain mass, since MuayThai is fatburning at its finest, so gaining mass and losing fat wont work.


Any comments/ideas/suggestions? Mack?

If u train Muay thai in a good section u'll have a lot of work out there. It's not too healthy to train too much. If you would have like 3-4 trainings a week you could add some additional work out but i don't know if u'll handle that in this situation. How many hours of training daily will you have?

When i trained like 3-4 hours a day 5 times a week i knew i just couldn't take any more. On the other hand I had individual trainings so it kinda suited me better.

Anyway it's almost impossible to gain much weight training martial arts. It burns almost all your fat.

how long are you training the thai boxing per day?

Even though you won't be gaining mass, creatine still has its uses. it could help retain muscle if you were burning alot of energy and it helps replenish your depleted ATP stores. In this case, it's not that important,but it helps none the less.

I train about 60-90 minutes a day (MuayThai). It varies from trainer to trainer.

I am too weak, imo, so I want to get more power, I know creatine will help me gain strength, it could also help me with mass, however the train makes it impossible, as you two said before.

I should still be able to push weights for definition, wouldnt I`? Again, I am not aiming to become a big ass mofo, I just want strength, definition, and perhaps, some musclesize increase.


Look at Tony Jaa, thats like what I would aim for.

Look at Tony Jaa, thats like what I would aim for.
of course, you could still push weights,but you have to make sure you eat enough. If you don''t eat enough you will become weaker over time.

You can ask you're trainer to write you a good training routine. He/she'll know you're possibilities the best. However i think you won't be able to train too much as muscles need a lot of time to regenerate. If you train hard for some muscles it may be up to 3-4 days so if u'll do too much you simply won't be able to train for that time. So as i said i think you should simply ask you're trainer. Btw. Just pushing weights won't make you much stronger overall. You have to do a complete training for many parts of muscles and it will really tire you a lot. Strengh doesn't come just from biceps or triceps, you gotta train everything to see a real difference. And with everyday trainings of muay thay it may be too hard to handle. But you can always try. Just ask trainer first

Thanx for the answers, again. I will ask my trainer some time soon what to do. I thought - as I dont visit the forum a lot anymore, I might just use this first.

Masta, Ill just try and see what I achieve during the next weeks, possibly even until New Years.

Mack, I am still undecided - as usual about this - if I should try and go for definition first, so I get sexy torso :lol: - or if I should go for more mass... I guess Ill try to go for definition first, eating enough to not lose weight/strength. As Ill be training almost everyday, I wont keep any extra fat anyways, I suppose.
