Some people like it, some don't.

I never really liked Linux systems and I find Ubuntu too Mac-ish. I mean it's definitely better than Mac OS but still limited and feels "empty" to me.
Obviously the best part is that you're getting a nice, full operating system for free :)

yes, thats the benefit of open source. i was a little familiar with android and see how they based it from linux since we used linux, red hat, ubuntu and all the other variants at school.

we were so against the change (from microsoft to open source) to begin with i got to grips with it. ubuntu is also what i used to partition my sd card using GParted, from the live cd - i didnt even have to install anything, just emulate it from the cd.

Basically I'm having an issue with Win7 right now that appears to be a buggy driver somewhere but it's a bitch to track down.

I decided to dual boot to see if I have the same problem with Ubuntu, and I don't. I was getting worried that I might have a hardware fault but now I know that I don't.

I really like Ubuntu. Never used it before. And it seems most of my Windows programs run perfectly using WINE.

Done all of that. I'm booted on my Win7 install right now trying some new drivers to see if they fix the problem.

I got the latest one in the mail the other day and realized it wouldn't boot on OSX. Not sure what I was doing wrong. But I got the OSX/Win7 connection going on right now, do I really need a third?

I tried Ubuntu in 2007 and while it was cool for a little bit, it quickly wore off. It's not for me. I think it's for more hardcore users, no matter how well Wine works or how many open source apps there are to replace their Windows counterparts.
