Time to stir up 'Mania mania

With just a few days left in 2005, WWE is putting a bow on the year's activities and getting everything in line for a strong start in 2006. Once Jan. 1 rolls around, the official "Road to WrestleMania'' begins. As Triple H mentioned Thursday morning with Regis Philbin, all shows and story lines are now written with the purpose of getting big feuds ready for 'Mania 22. Meanwhile, a recent trip to Afghanistan to raise soldiers' morale is being seen as a huge success, and even the vice president took notice. While visiting the troops at Bagram Airfield, VP Dick Cheney said, "Sorry I didn't come earlier this month. Somebody told me I missed a chance to meet Vince McMahon, Big Show and Triple H.''
AROUND THE RING: The much-maligned Tim White "suicide'' angle on pay-per-view has caused WWE quite a bit of grief -- so much that the former ref will be brought back to TV to show he is still alive. Some reports indicate White's bar in Providence, R.I., was visited by police following the incident. ... Joey Styles has inked a five-year WWE contract.
