Release Date: Nov. 7 (According to Gamespot.com; ign.com says Nov. 17)

A third-person tactical shooter from Epic, running on the Unreal Engine 3. Gears of War thrusts gamers into a deep and harrowing story of humankind’s epic battle for survival against the Locust Horde, a nightmarish race of creatures that surface from the bowels of the planet.

Unlike other shooters, Gears of War is all about teamwork in a big way. All game modes, levels and scenarios are designed specifically to encourage co-operative play, whether it be with A.I. partners or human players (with A.I. teammates designed with specific strengths, weaknesses and personalities.) On top of that, voice recognition will be available for players, and obviously voice chat to discuss strategy with your friends. In addition to voice chat, gamers will be able to experience individualized matchmaking, view player statistics, earn player achievements, customize their games, and build and personalize their gamer profiles over Xbox Live.



Im hyped for this game....This looks to be the game of the year...

If you got a 360 this is a must get...

Yeah, I was watching a video of it on a 360 kiosk at Circuit City. It looks to be a killer app....and I really want to play it lol. When I get my 360 early next year it will be one of the first games I get, depending on what's out. It could get game of the year, but remember, it will be competing with Zelda, Super Smash Bros., Super Mario Galaxy and Assassin's Creed (If it's as good as they are hyping it up to be).

I personally think that Zelda will win it, because it's the most anticipated and it's always #1. :fury: Besides, I'll go crazy if GoW wins it! lol

Right now, no doubt. Game of The Year.

If this were sitting next to a PS3, and I had to choose. I'd choose GOW 9 out of 10 times. Definate replay value, gameplay is fantastic, multiplayer is teriffic. Finally something to play on Xbox Live now besides Uno. Graphics are vicious.

Expect 360 sales to go way up.

nah, the game was full of hype. i've heard from people who were riding that games dick that "the story sucks and online has problems"

i'll stick with my games and i'll be picking up COD3 once my 360 gets back here :thumb:

I bought it from buy.com for 40 dollars. It's a good game but definently over rated. The controls are wack (cover and jump the same button? that shit gets you killed if you aren't careful) and multiplayer is a let down.

The controls fit the style of gameplay that GOW was built for. Your meant to 'Duck and Cover' all the time. Try running out like Rambo on the hard difficulty setting and you won't last five seconds. The multiplayer is awesome man, how can you say it's a let down? I easily play multiplayer more than single player and I still havn't completed the game fully. This is one of the best games i've ever played, definitely game of the year.

I think my statement went over your head. I said having the cover and jump button ON THE SAME BUTTON WAS A STUPID IDEA. And please, I've already beat the game on Insane so don't give me that bullshit.

The multiplayer is boring. Try going from Battlefield 2 to Gears Of War and you'll see how boring it is.
