I guess all major (and minor) summer transfers or rumors should be posted here.

Hargreeves from Bayern to Man United.

Juninho re-signed to Lyon till 2010.

Metzelder from Borussia to Real Madrid

Henry heading to Spain? Apperently, he isn't ruling out the possibility..though it's just a rumor, where do you guys feel he should be?

Roberto Ayala has joined Villareal.

Liverpool rumoured to be in the hunt for Tevez,Eto'o,Villa,Alves,Torres,Gabriel Milito.I think they should go for Kevin Doyle of Reading. He can score goals(he scored again for Ireland against Ecuador on Wednesday). He wont cost as much either.I hope they get Tevez as well.and Joaquin.

Distin has joined Portsmouth. So has Hreidersson and Sully Ali Muntari is expected to join them as well. They are also interested in Titus Bramble.

Berbatov to Man Utd is rumoured.I cant believe they paid so much for a mediocre player like Hargreaves. He has fuck all in his game.It a scandolous amount to pay.It said in the paer this morning that they are gonna bid something like 34 million(including Saha) for Berbatov.

Luca Toni to Bayern is rumoured.

I think Jansen is gone to Bayern.

What Bayern need to do is show Santa Cruz and Claudio Pizzaro the door. They have been at that club for ages and have done fuck all.Pizzaro has been linked with Rangers but apparently Juventus are now interested so forget it Rangers.

Both will definitely leave the club. Santa Cruz to Betis (probably) and Pizarro was linked to Chelsea.lol...i dont think this will happen though.

Shut up Bobby Sands, lol. Hargreaves is a class player.
Yea,he just oozes with class and skill doesnt he.

Explain to me how he is class when all he does is tackle and pass the ball short distances.Fair enough, you need players like this but why pay 18 million for them.Hargreaves is about as good as Neil Lennon. One thing you wouldnt label Hargreaves is class.Ive seen him a few times for Bayern Munich and he has been shit.Yes he played a few good games for England in the World Cup but that is because the rest of the England team was shit.He is a donkey.Would you pay 18 million for a donkey?

Man Utd need a defensive midfielder to protect their back 4. Most succesful clubs have them. If Hargreaves was in the team against Milan the result would probably be different. Kaka exploited the gap between midfield and defence and ran the show!... Gattusso done the job for Milan, closing the space and helping the defence nulify Rooney, Giggs and Ronaldo.

Hargreaves is 1 of the best defensive midfielders out there and will do the job Ferguson wants him to do. Ferguson is also pretty good at purchasing the players he knows he can develop.

Hargreaves will not set the world alight. But he will do an understated, but needed job for man U.

Berbatov would not be my choice of Striker though. Although Ferguson thinks he will provide a balance up front. Saha would be awesome if less injured. But the price I have seen thrown about in the papers (£39 Million) is ridiculous. You could buy 2 world class youngsters for that.

I know, these kind of players are needed in teams.Liverpool have Mascherano(better all round player though),Chelsea have Makalele,Milan have Gattuso.I would prob. pay 18 million for Gattuso because he is a good passer of the ball and he has unbelievable aggression.but Hargreaves isnt near as good.Man Utd could have easily got someone better(and cheaper) to fill this position.

My point is this. While these kind of players are important they aren't worth this kind of money.Hargreaves is very limited.Whats gonna happen Carrick anyway. How much did they pay for him?24 million was it.What a waste of money.

Rivaldo from Olympiakos to AEK Athens
The olympiakos fans are fuming over this.He held the club at ransom for an increase in wages and when Olympiakos didnt give in,he fucked off to their rivals AEK.

While Rivaldo has been a great player,he doesnt give a shit about supporters feelings. At the start of his career he left Corinthians to join their big Sao Paolo rivals Palmeiras. When he was at Deportivo,he decided to leave them out of the blue to join Barcelona. Then at Barcelona,he demanded extremely high wages and to be played in his favoured position.Barcelona didnt give in and released him. While he was a great player he seems like a money hungry asshole.Although he did grow up very poor.

Chelsea paid £17m for Makelele in 2003, and he was 30 at the time. Was that a bad deal? Hargreaves is a top quality defensive midfielder and, contrary to what you think, he can do more than tackle when he needs to. He showed that against Portugal in the World Cup.

I can't think of a defensive midfielder with International and Champions League experience, like Owen, who'd be much cheaper. United are also paying a premium because he'll settle in a lot easier than an Italian or a South American. He's played alongside Michael Carrick for the England team. I'd rather we spend £17m on him than half that on someone who turns out to be the next Kleberson.

Carrick will, eventually, replace Scholes.

Waste of money? Carrick cost between £14-18m, depending on clauses, and he helped us lift this:

I'd say that's a pretty good return. I'm sure Liverpool would pay ten times that to get their grubby Scouse hands on the Premiership trophy.
