I couldn't find anything on Manny Alexander charging the mound

although I did find an article about when he was with the Red Sox that steroids were found in his car

at this point Boston aint a contending team man
id have to agree with you, considering they have no SS or CF (Youkilis will start at 1B)

i'd still consider them a contender with the SP they have (if it meets its potential) and Ramirez/Ortiz. Plus Varitek, Nixon, and Loretta are no slouches either, and I expect Mike Lowell to have a better season with the bat.

They could be a Wild Card team, but no, they are not the favorites.

well, i never thought they had a shot at the division, i did, however say the wild car was always a choice.....they're gonna be competing with the angels for that spot....maybe the jays too now....but it wont be tight like it'll be in the NL......the bosox do have a good chance though, and they didnt do too bad in the offseason...sure damon was a loss, and they're missing position players, but they dont need allstars at every position...they can bring a CF and SS from the minors...im sure there's some good ones there....then wil lowell, loretta, ortiz and manny, thats a really nice combo.....hoping beckett stays healthy, they're pitching should be solid as well....

the most important need is leadoff hitter though. they'll probably trade for jeremy reed, who's supposed to become a pretty good player. i don't know how well he'd do this year though.

"i don't know how well he'd do this year though."

^ that's the thing, you dont know how they'll do....the yanks could lose, sheff, damon, arod and matsui in a freak accident, although unlikely, and the bosox could take the division.....anything's possible..its sports, not math, where you add somthing, subtract something, and you've got the success of a team....alot of it's luck, something fans cant see till it actualyl starts happening...and can be either good or bad....this jeremy reed guy, what if he turns into a furcal/damon/ jeter kinda guy?? you dont know....
