Technology so some decides to post my external ip address...

some fag on a message board, im guessing a moderator, got my ip address, and posted it telling people to hack me??? long story....

but now im freaked out, and i dunno what to do....i got a router in place, and a firewall...what else is there for me to do now?

You're pretty screwed if anyone who sees that knows about hacking or has any good software progs for it.

In all honesty there is pretty much no chance of you being hacked. It's easy to get your IP.

Hardly any hacking is done my computer geeks these days. Most of it is done through social engineering. Persuading you for your details rather than hacking them. It's easier to get your info through tricks than programming.

^ basically what the guy above said. The only real thing someone will do is send a trojan but that's only if you take it and you open it. The best thing to do is not take any files from anyone. It's best to keep a firewall up as well. But to help the situation where this 'asshole' won't post your ip anymore, get a proxy. Then your IP is basically 'hidden' with another computers IP. (not illegally though).
