Sky One's The Match

Anybody watching?

For those not in the UK, a group of British celebrities ("The Celebs") go through rigorous football training at the hands of a classic manager (in this case Graham Taylor) to face off against a group of legendary players ("The Legends") in a football match.

50 minutes in and the Legends are 1-0 up thanks to a Nigel Winterburn goal, but the Celebs are fighting back. Jonathan Wilkes had an missed an absolute sitter
Antony Hutton (from Big Brother) had a good strike saved by Neville Southall and the Celebs JUST had a goal disallowed because Harvey did a "Hand of God".

The Legends
Ally McCoist
David Batty
Dean Saunders
Des Walker
Gary McAllister
Gary Pallister
Ian Rush
John Barnes
Matt Le Tissier
Neville Southall
Nigel Winterburn
Peter Beardsley

It was a charity game, but both teams were really going for it. Though they were Celebs, they're all footy fans and some of them had minor success when they were younger. Last year everyone predicted a massacre (the most popular bet with bookies was 7-0) but the Legends scraped a last minute goal (from Ally McCoist) to win 2-1.

Finished 2-0 this time, Ally McCoist again got the second goal for the Legends. Darren Campbell (Olympic gold medalist sprinter) took a penalty for the Celebs, but it was saved.

Neville Southall, despite being old and overweight, was in magnificent form.
