When The Lakers won the championship and rioters destroyed police cars he paid for brand new ones. He has hired handicapped people who couldnt get jobs nowhere to work at Staples Center. He has played Santa Claus in the inner city and handed out toys to unfortunate people and he bought all of the toys out of his own pocket. He is a great man and deserves the money. Hell he has earn it, he almost took Miami Heat to the promise land.

^ Well I wouldn't call it a paycut. He's getting less annually with the new contract, but more overall. And considering he's getting up there in age, it's nice to know you'll be making $20 million in five years.

The contract does help the team though, and I commend him for it. I like seeing players sacrifice some cash to win.

A fucking person who throws balls in a hoop, or any other sports should receive less than 60 000$ a year. They don't put their lives on the edge, nor do they save people's lives from gunshot wounds, tumors and don't dedicate their lives to studies till they hit 40 (doctors, psychologists and more) to become something that at times just hits the 100 000$ mark. Fucking nurses should be making more than sport players.

Same goes for actors. Overpaid.

Actually, the sport fucks their body up badly. I agree that no man does deserve 20 mil$ a year, no matter what, but to say "all they do is throw a ball in the hoop" is not correct. They are willing 2 sacrifiece their body.

We'll 40,000 people don't pay $45 a night to go see a nurse stitch up a cut, do they? They get paid relative to the amount of money that people put into it. If you don't like, stop going to games, stop watching games, and stop buying the apparell.

like amerikaz said. It's entertainment, and sadly people buy too much into it, therefore the tv companies make money the owners the this and that. So what happens the athletes just want a piece of it.

I used to feel the same way that FlipMo does, and still kinda do. Do they deserve that kind of money? No, not really. But when you look at how much money the team owners make off of their performance, the athletes only want their fair share. Same goes with actors.
