Following the signing of a contract with Delta Sport, the official supplier of Nike to Serbia, the Serbian Football Association (FSS) has finally given the public its first glimpse of the all new red-blue-white combination to be worn by the Serbian national football team. The new jerseys will make their debut appearance in a few days time in the friendly against the Czech Republic, where not only the colours will be different, but also the players, national anthem and country itself.
Red, white and blue, covered in gold
As was revealed earlier by the FSS, Serbia will play in red shirts, blue shorts and white socks. American sporting goods giant Nike, through its Serbian distributor Delta Sport, will be the supplier of all technical apparel to all Serbian national sides.
Yesterday, we were given our first sneak peek at the all-new red kit. It features a classic, clean style with the Serbian coat of arms on the chest and the “four-S” shield on the back located above the player’s name. The lettering and numbers on the kit are bold and broad, coloured in gold. Also the font used for all the characters has been modelled on that which is used on Serbian banknotes.
Although Dejan Stankovic’s kit is evidently ready for him to wear, unfortunately the public will have to wait until October before the complete kit goes on sale to obtain their piece of history.
