OMFG OMFG OMFG

You're fucking shitting me. After 16 god damn years.....A REAL FUCKING SEQUEL TO SONIC 3 ON THE MEGADRIVE?!!!!!!!!?

This is too good to be true. The only game that could possibly have me more excited than this would be Shenmue 3.

You guys don't understand how many hours, days, weeks, months I spent playing Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 (and Sonic & Knuckles although to be fair that was basically just an extension of Sonic 3) when I was a kid on my Mega Drive.

Holy fucking blue hedgehogs that's dope.

Knuckles rocked. I loved putting in random Genesis cassettes into the Sonic/Knuckles adapter and play different kinds of bonus maps (You know the ones where you had to get all the balls without hitting the red ones).

It's sad, I'm considering picking up an Xbox 360 just for this. lol.

PS: I want a new Sega console, now. I'll spend 500$ I don't give a fuck, but I want it now. :(

This is the so called "project needlemouse" they've been hyping all around their page and I saw this some time ago already but didn't know that you people care for it so much :p
However am I the only one who hates Sonic games? lol
I haven't been playing them when I was a kid though.

Old news

http://www.streethop.com/forum/technology-games/218054-new-2d-sonic-2010-a.html

Did you forget you made this thread before Yak? Better trailer though this time, looking forward to it.

Edit:
Ok this probably means nothing, but at the end of this new trailer, at the bottom it lists XBox Arcade, PSN, Wiiware etc, and then there is a black box with a yellow border with a ? in it.

Could this be the new Sega RingEdge console that Ive been hearing bout?

Are you serious?

A new SEGA console would the greatest shit ever. The Dreamcast and the MegaDrive are my two favorite consoles of all time.

Unfortunately their official position is that they won't be making any gaming consoles. They're getting bigger profits from being only a third party game developer (and one that is really cautious at it lately releasing only simple shitty titles that will sell)

yeah I exaggerated, compared to what they used to do they're shitty nwo. They also have Yakuza and Total War series which are good.
But most of their games are pretty simple lately. They only release things that will definitely sell well and don't cost much. They even performed a 12 month research before releasing Yakuza 3 outside of Japan. That game pwns. Yakuza 3 > GTA4 imo

Are you seriously telling me you don't know about the RingEdge and RingWide hardware SEGA have been developing over the last couple of years?

And they all ready put the hardware in Arcade machines a year ago, the most successful RingEdge Arcade game is Border Break, which use touchscreen technology;

From what i've been reading, the console version will come as 2 versions, The Edge which will have a hard drive and some sort of Disc support, and the Wide will only have streamed games (no disc or locally stored games, it will be streamed straight over the internet).

Yeah they still do Arcades. It's the only hardware they do. I've meant that they're not planning to do any gaming consoles like they used to with Dreamcast, Saturn etc.
