Scarface: The World Is Yours

#1
so who has played it yet? i was leery when i first heard about this game, being that Scarface is one of my favorite movies of all time and i was worried they would ruin the movie with a lame game. but i've been playing it a lot since it came out and i gotta say its pretty good. it's an open ended, sandbox type game (a la GTA) and has a lot of similarities to Vice City (which was unavoidable since Vice City, in terms of setting and design, ripped off Scarface the movie as well as others) but there are enough differences to set them apart, such as the system used to buy/sell drugs, fast talk the cops, launder your money and various other things. overall i'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. it's got it's downsides to it, but despite that it's a solid, fun game that does a good job of bringing you into Tony Montana's world.

edit: damn what was i thinking? i posted this in sports lol, could one of the mods move it to ET please?

Is Al Pacino's voice on it? it sounded like him from the commercials.

i hope this game doesnt get pulled from the shelves. these protest groups wanting the game banned so kids dont get this game. the same shit they did for GTA series.

I know its rated M but these young kids will defintely get there hands on this game

I want to pick this up too, but right now i want NBA Live 07, and the Family Guy Game when this comes out the 16th. I'll have to wait a while.

no, it's not Al Pacino's voice, but the voice actor (Andre Sogliuzzo) was handpicked by Pacino, and he does a pretty damn good job, almost a dead ringer of Tony.

well if you're one of those people who look at any GTA-like open ended style game as just a GTA clone (and there are plenty of people who think that way) then you probably won't like this game much because of so many similarities to GTA, especially Vice City. the graphics certainly aren't bad, but they aren't spectacular either, and in some cases look really dated with the exception of the character model of Tony, they did an excellent job in that aspect. for PC players, there are apparently a myriad of problems with the game, including a ton of bugs and a lot of cases of the game not even starting for some people, even when they have all the requirements to play it (although i play it on the PC and i haven't had any problems with it at all in these regards). and the ridiculous amount of spawning gang members in some portions of the game make it extremely challenging, which can be a turn off for some people. other than these things tho, the game is well done and definitely worth checking out for fans of the movie and GTA style games.

Trust me you do not want NBA Live 07, buy NBA 2K7 or NBA 07.
