Ryan Howard passes Hack Wilson as NLs non-steroid-abuser single season homerun champ

In 1930 Hack Wilson hit 56 home runs and belted in an MLB-all time record of 191 RBI for the Cubbies (not to mention a nifty.356 batting average).

76 years later, Ryan Howard passes him with his 57th home run of the year.


no other player who wasn't pumped full of steroids has hit more in a single season in the NL

god i love hack wilson...he was just another bright spot on a dismal cubbies history...or achievement list, i think the cubbies have plenty of history....those 191 were amazing..even in today's date, how much less could they have been against today's pitchers?

Hack wouldn't have been affected much by todays pitchers, he victemized fastballers

and Hack had to hit in larger stadiums than players do today so he lost alot of RBI opportunities as well
