Ruud van Nistelrooy insists he has no intention of quitting Manchester United whilst Wayne Rooney remains his strike partner.
The prolific Dutchman has been linked with a move to Milan in recent weeks but having denied an interest in a switch to Serie A, van Nistelrooy
has now explained the factors behind his desire to stay in Manchester.
Van Nistelrooy and Rooney have formed arguably the most formidable front pairing in The Premiership, with the latter having laid on a plethora of goals for his partner since arriving at Old Trafford from Everton.
Although Rooney is enduring somewhat of a barren run in front of goal recently, van Nistelrooy has been keen to heap praise on the prodigious England international, claiming he is enjoying the partnership enough to keep him from being drawn to either Italy or Spain - with Real Madrid also keen suitors.
''Wayne is already one of the best young players in the world and he has a huge future,'' said van Nistelrooy. ''It is fantastic for me to be playing alongside him.
''Having Wayne alongside me is one of the reasons I'm not planning to be anywhere else rather than Manchester United.
''I like playing where I am. I'm not going to leave to go to Spain, Italy or anywhere else.
''You really don't see people of his age with that kind of ability very often. He is strong, can take people on and is able to play in so many positions.
''He has played up front, on the left and right, in the hole and in midfield.''
Meanwhile, van Nistelrooy has taken a cheeky swipe at Chelsea's playing style, claiming Barcelona may only need to score once if they are to knock Jose Mourinho's side out of the UEFA Champions League.
The Holland international has claimed that should Barca score in the first leg at Stamford Bridge next week, then Chelsea may struggle to adapt an attacking mentality in the return clash at Camp Nou.
''If Barcelona score at Stamford Bridgem it will be a big step towards victory because then in the second leg, Chelsea won't be able to play their defensive style.''
