The Rockies are actively seeking a seventh-inning reliever, though a collapse on this road trip would prevent any trade upgrade. As talks have cooled regarding Baltimore's LaTroy Hawkins, Colorado has inquired about Kansas City's Elmer Dessens.

The Royals have no urgency to move the right-hander because he has a modest contract for next season.

Boston's Julian Tavarez also has been discussed internally by the Rockies.
hahahaha You can have him you poor bastards.

Can we just ask why in God's name this hasn't happened yet?

The Colorado Rockies, looking to jettison lefty reliever Ray King, have reportedly expressed interest in Rudy Seanez AND Julian Tavarez. If I'm Theo Epstein, I don't even wait to find out what I get in return. The moment Dan O'Dowd says "Rudy..." I'm in. No questions asked. This is the Get Out of Jail Free card Epstein has needed.

In 10 career games at Coors Field, Seanez has an 8.22 ERA. Perhaps his most damning stat with the Red Sox this season is that he has allowed an unfathomable 11 of 16 inherited runners to score.

Denver Post reporter Troy Renck suggests that Seanez matches up best with the Rockies due to a salary that matches up well with King. Boston reporters know King matches up well with Boston because he's not Seanez.
