Rob Van Dam Done With WWE, Taken Off Television

Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch is reporting that RVD is officially done with World Wrestling Entertainment as of last Wednesday. His match with Snitsky on this week's ECW show will likely be his final match with the company. RVD has already made it clear to WWE he will not be re-signing with the company and they feel keeping him around to burying him on TV is not worth it.

Although RVD's WWE contract does not expire until late June, WWE officials are giving him an earloy released because they had nothing for him creatively. Despite the early release, RVD has a no-compete clause and will not be able to show up in TNA immediately.

RVD is is expected to sign with TNA after a much needed break from the pro wrestling industry. One of the major issues that prevented him from re-signing with WWE is that they would not give him the vacation time he was asking for. RVD is looking to work a reduced schedule, which TNA offers. Expect RVD and Sabu to jump ship to TNA in the coming months.

Chris Jericho is a great guy, i met him here a couple years ago (Winnipeg is where he grew up, so he comes back here quite often). he's probably one of the most genuine guys you could meet. even tho it's his character's nature, he has no hint of an ego whatsoever, just an overall nice guy.

i haven't watched wrestling in over a year, but RVD was always one of my favorites, WWE has made yet another mistake and added another nail to their own coffin. it's almost like they are purposely trying to build up TNA's ranks. is Vince really hoping for another wrestling war? does he not remember that he came this close to going bankrupt and losing his company during the WWF/WCW wars?

I don't think you understand the TV market in the UK, but it doesn't matter because I have cable and satellite anyway.

Apparently NBA is shown on Five US, which is a spin-off digital channel from the least-popular of the five terrestrial channels. Basically they pick up all the American shows that nobody else wants. They may or may not have shown the NBA playoffs, in between four-hour live poker tournaments and re-runs of Joey.
