Rob Van Dam Contemplating Joining TNA

#1

As reported earlier, Rob Van Dam's WWE contract will be expiring in a few months. News is now coming out that he is legitimately expressing interest in leaving WWE for TNA and the independent circuit when his contract ultimately expires.

RVD was openly talking about it during the weekend of the ECW PPV, asking people if it was a good idea. Especially after some fans at the ECW PPV were chanting for him to go to TNA. Furthermore, several people said that his wife Sonya, who was in attendance at the PPV, was chanting "TNA" along with some other fans. As things stand now, the belief is that he won't sign a new contract with WWE, but things can always change.

RVD feels that Vince McMahon wouldn't allow the ECW belt to be put back on him because he thinks he's still being punished for his pot bust back in July. RVD thinks he did his time. Also, RVD's refusal to go on the Iraq trip probably didn't help matters, even though it was technically voluntary.

Looks like everybody is not happy with the WWE right now Wrestlers and fans.

TNA will kill WWE in a few years, all the wrestlers are going there. (I doubt seing HHH, HBK, Kane and so on there tho.)

If WCW couldn't kill WWE, TNA has no chance. Compare your average RAW crowd to your average TNA crowd. Now bear in mind that all those fans at RAW actually paid for their tickets, unlike the TNA fans. Even when WWE is putting on a terrible product (and it's not great right now), fans still flock to see it.

^^ i thought they payed!! lol well...forget my comment!

But TNA gains respect in the wrestling world. I hope they make it big, because the moves are really great and the wrestlers are nice too.

i have to Dissagree with you Illuminatille.

if TNA is managed right an gets the right personel. an they dont have someone like AOL/Time Warner. to come in an want to buy it like WCW, TNA can become a success.

TNA has been on the scene for 4 years. you keep getting the right talent in there. TNA has there light work schedule compared to WWE, that is a significant bonus for wrestlers.

What TNA needs is a few more Multi-Millionaire investors to invest in the company. people that follow wrestling an have a know how about the business. an TNA really needs a place where they can develop new talent an bring them up to the show every now an then.

Do that plus have your writers come up with something that will have people tune in to their product. in the long run people will grow old of the WWE. an people will tune in to see an alternative wrestling show.

Did you read Bischoffs book by any chance? like Eric said add into your product with what the audience wants. like he did with WCW.

TNA is slowly building into a winner. ratings have improved. there landing some of the WWE wrestlers. Give it another 5 years. Management runs it right an doesnt rush trying into making it a success. TNA can have a Future.

dont underestimate Dixie Carter.. she seems like she has the know how into making a product work. (an TNA should get Heyman signed he can be a part of the success into building TNA into a powerhouse.

No, but Lance Storm says it's a piece of shit.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see TNA really compete. But, right now, they spend way too much time taking petty pot-shots at WWE. Every time they sign a WWE reject, they have him come out on TV and run down WWE, as though that's going to boost ratings. It makes them look desperate.

yeah well... RVD has some heat with WWE for not going to Irak (which is stupid to me but hey, I'm not an American patriot so..)

Sandman Annoys Undertaker; Heyman's Departure, RVD/Iraq

Submitted by Daniel Pena on December 21, 2006 - 3:28pm.

Internally, the feeling is that The Sandman better shape up or he could be shipped out. During the European tour in November, Undertaker wasn't too fond of The Sandman's obnoxious and loud ways. Undertaker was saying he could put up with Big Show because he's used to him, but The Sandman was rubbing him the wrong way. Considering that the ECW wrestlers will now be touring with the SmackDown wrestlers, he is going to have to change his ways or he may not last as an employee for WWE.
The general feeling among the writing staff is that Heyman's departure was the best thing for Paul and the company. Pantelis Ypsilantis was the only writer upset by Heyman leaving because he felt Paul had helped him keep his job over the last three weeks and was considered to be his latest protege.
Rob Van Dam ended up not going to the Tribute to the Troops after all. They wanted him to go last year and he refused, and they put even more pressure on him this year and he refused again. There is a ton of heat on him for this.

Everytime TNA sign a former WWE employee...he will get a title run..or take shots at WWE. If TNA wanna be succesfull they have to stop this anti WWE thing that theyre on.

The VKM thing that theyre doing really sucks..its almost as bad as the return of DX.
