Referees SUCK

This year has been terrible when it comes to the Referees in NFL.

There has been numerous calls that have changed the momentum or even costed some teams some wins this year, more specifically the Chargers.

I have never been so disgusted with officiating and i have seen some terrible calls.

I.e. Chargers vs Denver, Chargers vs Steelers, Chargers vs Colts.

and even other teams...i think it was Denver vs somebody else that was a HORRIBLE call.

I believe that the refs should be in great shape in order to move the fuck out the way, and they shouldn't need to blow the whistle until its obvious the play is dead. Of course there are other things but i am just so annoyed by it right now...

Do you agree?

Heres a post in more detail...only about the Colts. Im not even going to get into the Denver one. Thats the most famous one. Although there were phantom calls and others, this one is more obvious.

In the Colts 4th Quarter game winning drive I noticed something that needs it's own thread for the pictures. First off, Marvin Harrison got hurt on the play that was 3rd and 5, where he got tackled almost right at the line, so that would have taken a few more seconds off of the clock to get back up. Secondly, the ref got the spot right the first time. Let me explain.

In this picture, the ref whose sole job is to watch where the ball lands and spot it, spots it in the same place it would after the review, which is at the 48. Also, notice ref#44 looking in running in from the bottom left of the screen.

This next picture Ref 44 kind of pushes the other ref out of the way to respot the ball. Therefore overtaking the other ref's job.

Ref 44 then picks the ball up and moves it up the field, which therefore made the top buzz in to challenge the play. And in fast motion, it's almost as if Ref 44 seriously shoves the other ref hard to put it further down the field.

Ref 44's view when the play happened (He runs in from the bottom left) gives him no good angle to be able to rightfully place the ball. The judge who is on the sideline specifically looking for that has the best judgment for a play. In the end, the ball was just moved back to where the ball ref originally put it, but it gave the Colts a huge time out, specifically when Harrison was really slow to get up.

By the way, to top it all off. The very next play, the Ref #44 picks off Jammer, and that is why Harrison is so wide open. I noticed it at the game, and on the Scott and BR show this morning they were talking about Ref 44 picking off Jammer. Here is a pic that kind of shows it but not quite because on TV they don't show it. But you see the ref putting on his hat here.

Ref 44 is also the one right near the Manning TD where the Colts receivers did a cross pick route and Ref 44 didn't throw a flag. Pick routes are okay, if you don't have your hands wrapped around them like a holding.

Fulltime Refs anyone?
