As many of you are quite aware, it would seem that the NHL season will be cancelled. (perhaps the people overseas are unaware) Because of the lack of understanding and agreement between the players and the league, fans all across North America, mainly Canada , are being punished by the loss of a sport. Obviously this affects everyone in a different way. To most American sports fans, they haven't missed hockey at all, and quite frankly don't care if the season is over, and probably couldn't care if the whole league shut down.
Anyways, today I was thinking about the whole situation, and I questioned whether or not I lost respect for the sport I love so much. I'm a huge hockey fan, and though I miss it, I haven't missed it as much as I thought I would.. I could go on.. but here's my question..
If a league you adore, had a strike because of money and contract disputes, and an entire season was cancelled, what would your feelings be towards the players and the league? Would you watch the sport once it came back? Would you lose respect for the players? What would it take to get you back into the sport?
I'm not speaking in terms of the NHL, but if this happened with MLB, NBA, NFL, or any other sporting league..
Like to hear your thoughts
Peace
