Its out next friday. anyone here gonna get it. Pro Evo 2008 wasnt great but still better than Fifa 2008 imo. The latest installment is supposed to be a big improvement on its predecesser.Online play will be much improved. It was a disaster in that last game. i have mine pre-ordered. Here are some of the features:

I think I played last years demo and it was ok. I thought it was better than the last FIFA. The new FIFA just came out and it's suppose to be pretty good. The problem with me is there are way too many other games coming out in the next month to give this game a go. I might get it months from now used or something.

Some sites have had the chance to review it. They stated that Winning the CL has a very satisfying feeling to it lol.

has anyone here played FIFA 2009 yet? It has received alot of good reviews. Is gameplay similar to FIFA 2008 because i thought it wasnt great in that?

I thought the gameplay in 08 was poor, the fact the players reactions sucked and they waited for the ball to come to them was stupid. I have played 09 on the Xbox, it seems better, but the lasting appeal isnt that long. Wasn't for me or a couple of friends.

^^but is it on a par with the gameplay in pro evolution. I think the good reviews are based on the games content and graphics more than gameplay. Im only interested in gameplay.

Nope the gameplay isn't as good as the last pro evo, which imo was average on next gen (awesome on ps2 though). The reviews I read of both games imply that Pro Evo has gone back to the old type of gameplay and still is winning that race, but it fails on the presentation and whatnot.

that was always the case. FIFA won hands down on content and graphics but Pro Evolution had the better gameplay.

I got the game on Friday. Its ok. a good football game but not great. The graphics have improved alot from PES 2008 but they are still not on par with FIFA. Gameplay isnt what it was either. The ball moves too fast i feel. Why cant they make the gameplay like it was in PES 4? That was perfect. The sound effects are awful as is the annoying commentary. The menu are poor looking as well, but at least you dont have to squint your eyes to read them like in the last game. Become a pro mode is nice but is difficult. A lot of annoyances form the last game are still there. The CPU defenders can clear corners straight to one of their own players everytime, sometimes your passes dont go where you intended even though thats the direction where you have pointed the d-pad. The ref still gives bookings for fair tackles. Chip passes still dont look right. I havent played online but ive read that some of the problems from pes 2008 still exist. overall id give it about 7/10.

I think FIFA has taken over as the number one footy game.I have read that the gameplay is now better than what PES has to offer. And lets be honest, that was always the saving grace for PES games in the past. The graphics, sounds, content etc may not have been as good as FIFA but the gameplay was streets ahead. thats not the case anymore. FIFA wins in every department. Im gonna get that as well.

I still say PES has better gameplay than FIFA. I played both, and bought PES, FIFA isn't that good. The AI on FIFA is awful.

The become a legend mode is great imo.

I gave it 7/10 for now but the game might grow on me more when i play it more.

both games are not too good, even though they get great reviews. It's strange but to me every football game is the same and still a new one comes every year.
Better graphics and updated squads is actually all that changes.
It's quite fun to play them for a day or 2 though.

Not much improvement over 2008....PES 6 was great.

All they had to do was improve the graphics and make a few tweaks to the gameplay modes and it would have been perfect but it's taken a huge nose dive.

So i started playing Pro Evolution 2009 online for the first time yesterday and guess what? Online play still sucks like it did in PES 2008. THe same crippling lag and glitches are there. Its unplayable at times. THey never bothered fixing it. fucking assholes put out the exact same shit as last year.

I also played FIFA 2009 for the first time recently and i can safely say that it is a miles better all round game than PES 2009. Even the gameplay, which was the saving grace for PES games in the past is much better. I will be purchasing FIFA 2009 the next time im in the game store.

After playing online i change my rating of this game to 5/10. i wont be buying PES next year after being blantantly ripped off this year and last year.

I want to know is why do they still have flimsy leagues in FIFA. Australian and Korean league? Are you kidding me? lol.

Where's the Greek, Russian, Romanian or Ukrainian league? Not even the Argentinian league?!

Well im gonna get FIFA 2009 when i get a chance. From what i have played of it so far, i like it much better. It feels much more realistic than Pro Evolution 2009. obviously i need to play it more though.
