Are press ups one of the best ways to build up your upper body.Im wondering because they seem to work better for me anyway rather than lifting weights.I try to do about 150 a day now.

How many press ups can you do in a row before you have to stop? Before i could do about 80 or 90 but now i can only do about 50.Im not as fit as i was back then.

Its a good way to tone the upper body, you can't gain any more strength from constantly doing the same weight exercise, only muscle endurance. I can do about 70 of them until I get exhausted. Doing bench presses REALLY helped me get to that number, I use to be only able to do something like 20, then I started doing bench presses and after awhile it jumped to 70.

In conclusion, best way to build up upper body strength is through weights

No it's definitely not the best way to build your upper body, in fact it's one of the worst. Ever seen one of those push-up champions? most of them are pretty skinny looking. The best way to build your upper body is through weights and proper nutrition.

Exactly. To do push ups makes u fit, not doubt and when u start doin them u might build up some muscles, but sooner or later that will stop....if u really wanna build up, u need to keep the reps low..... if u wanna build up, u gotta use weights.

What if you do push ups with added weights on your back? Would that make any difference?

Like say, bags of sand

Might as well do bench presses. It would actually be hard to put weights on your back and do push ups, they would just fall off after a few push ups.
