Hey guys, got myself a home cinema / dvd / hi-fi all in one system today to go with my lcd tv and hooked it up pretty quickly. I've connected all the cables as istructed in the manual but I can't get the sound from the t.v to play through the hi-fi speakers. I can put a DVD into the hi-fi and it will play perfectly with sound coming out of the speakers, do I need to buy some extra cables? I'm pretty clueless. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

well, that is dependant on the TV you purchased, if it is good enough it should have audio out component/rca jacks, you will need to purchase the component/rca leads to connect to the hifi, you should have to audio ins (red/white) on the hifi, they might not be red/white depending on how expensive the hifi is. basically you will need a cable that has the colors of the jacks of the tv and the colors of the jacks on the hifi.

if the tv isnt all that great and doesnt feature audio out through this method, there is a possibility that you will have a headphone jack, many dont in recent year but some still do. if you do have a headphone jack then you will need one of these;

you can also use that lead to connect up anything with a 3.5 jack, for example mp3, psp etc.
