I think Pittsberg is a good team for Crosby. He'll be able to train and learn from the best, Mario Lemieux. Whatch y'all think about this?

I think it's good for Pittsburgh, at least they'll get something to see this year, I wish he was drafted by Montreal, but we still got the Number 5 spot, which is very good..

btw..this should be in "street hop sports"

Yeah it's true Pittsburgh would be a great place for Crosby but not for a longtime because Pittsburgh will kove that's for sure. The city doesn't want to build a new arena so cities like Winnipeg will bid to try to move that team in their cities. And yes pietro006, it would have be so cool if Montreal had win the lottery but what do you want with 2,08% of chances you cannot hope for miracles.

Crosby looked like he had been crying when they interviewed him. No one and i mean NO ONE would want to go to pittsburgh. Shitty team + shitty city, theres nothing to look forward to except playin with mario and even he's already nearing the end. I think he'll go to the habs as soon as he's unrestricted which is will probably be awhile but i could also see him demanding a trade in the future.

Why does everyone seem to think he'll go to the Habs? There's no logical reason for him to go to Montreal over any other team. So he played Jr. in Quebec.. big deal.. tons of the best players in the NHL played Jr. hockey in Quebec and it doesn't mean that they have to play for the Habs.

And I disagree Cheesy. Sidney Crosby would never demand a trade. The kid has class. He's far too mature and smart to be an asshole to ask for a trade. He's nothing like Eric Lindros bud!!

Pittsberg's got a strong team now. They got Mario, Crosby, Recchi, and that got that deadly goalie..Marc-Andre. They'll be a force to be reckoned with in 06.

Mario's almost done and recchi is getting old. I never said he was going to the habs but i said it woulda been a good fit since it was his childhood dream and the "next gretzky" should play in canada rather than some shit town and city.

I think Pittsburgh will be good... but not this year. I give them a few years before they will compete for a playoff spot. They have tons of young talent that will mature over the next few years.

And while I think Crosby is amazing, you do have to realize that he's going to be only 18 years old when the season gets underway. I don't think anyone can expect him to do everything for the organization.

He doesn't have to. He plays with Mario Lemieux. MARIO LEMIEUX.

Look how many old people Detroit has and they been the number one contending team in the last 10 years....so age don't mean shit.

I understand that.. but can you say that Mario Lemieux will do everything for them?? Buddy is almost 40 years old... he can't carry an entire team on his shoulders.

So yes... Crosby will have to take some of the load.. but is he capable??? Only time will tell.

im hopin that he doesnt do well, or if he does that no one in pittsburgh cares and they don build a new arena, and move here to winnipeg. How amazing wud that be, Sidney Crosby on the Winnipeg Jets. But like ShockA and Swollen_Member said, only time will tell. If Pitsburgh gets a new building, say goodbye to Winnipeg's chance to get Crosby

Winnipeg's not gonna get a hockey team anytime soon, I don't know why you and people here think that. And if we do get a team, it'll be one of the southern teams like Florida or Columbus, not Pittsburgh. You're talking like we already have a team, don't bet on it happening for at least 5 years

^^^ i aint talkin like wer for sur gunna get one. I understand its not likely, but im jus tryin to be positive, and its a lot more likely now then it was before, because of the salary cap. If Crosby didnt go to Pittsburgh, then they wud be the most likely to be movin to winnipeg, and even now, ther in money troubles. Im jus sayin its a possibility and if it happens it wud be amazing, i never sed that Pittsburgh was movin to winnipeg or that ne one was, i jus sed it was a possibility. Cum on u liv in Winnipeg, u gotta be more enthusiastic. Nuttin wrong wit hopin.

If Pittsberg does well this year then yeah there's a good chance they'll get a new arena I think. And with the new salary cap, it's definetly a lot more viable for owners to have teams in cities like Winnipeg and Hamilton in the future like Saint33 said. Me personaly I'm just really pumped to see how the next season turns out with all these changes.

It's not like I don't want a team here, I'm just being realistic. When we had a team, the salaries in 1996 were a lot lower than they were before the salary cap, and we couldn't afford it then, what makes you think we could afford it now? I'd rather not have a team than have one come here and then just leave again in 5 years because the city can't afford it. Besides, if Pittsburgh did come here, we would probably have to let Crosby go, I imagine his salary will go up in the next couple years and we wouldn't be able to pay it.

LOLL HAMILTON FORGET THAT, I heard on a hockey show that Quebec-Winnipeg and Kansas City are the next cities that could see a new hockey franchise. Hamilton are you kidding me they have the Hamilton Bulldogs one of the best team of the AHL and they had problems to fill half of their arena, and yes maybe Pittsburgh will not move if they can get a new contract for their new arena but teams like Florida and Carolina this is very probable so who knows? Bring the game back where it belongs in real markets where fan support could be great!
