NY Times: A-rod could eventually pass Aaron

He could. if he plays up to age of 40 and and hits same number of homeruns in average. i think he will.

On the other thand,Pujols could too.

yes....both pujols and a-rod can pass aaron...or come very very close...meaing 20 or so away....but in the end, if both do come close, i think pujols will be remembered more, since he's a little more well-rounded than a-rod??? and both are 5 tool players so..... i thin pujols will still edge him out with a higher avg for his career...

tennis_dog, A-rod is a gold glove shortstop who's lead the league in home runs 4 times, has a .300+ average, won a batting and RBI title, and once stole 40 bases in a season.

Pujols just a first basemen. he's above average on defense but never will win a gold glove.

There are a bunch of players who could catch him. Hell, if Manny Ramirez plays into his early 40's, he could do it.

That's unlikely though.

I read in my Baseball Digest that Andruw Jones is up there on the list (11th) of homeruns before the age of 30, and he has over a year left before he stops adding to that total. Might as well throw him in there.
