Nothing Is Sacred Except God-essay

Title: Nothing is sacred except God, and to sanctify any material thing, or even an idea, is the deepest blasphemy, akin to stealing someone's identity and living their life as their own.

would be appreciated if people could throw around some ideas. this is a title for an essay i am writing and the more i think about it the more i contradict myself
which of the follwing would you pick?

Nothing is sacred except God

There are certain ideas and concepts which are sacred, but nothing material is sacred.

There are material things which are sacred.

Personally, I would go with the second topic. I believe there are certain ideas/concepts which are sacred, such as love and family, or even such things as memory or knowledge. So, by believing in that, I cannot believe that God is the only sacred entity - I think anything that strikes us on an emotional level is sacred. Material things, whilst they are useful and meaningful, are often only a reminder of history or experience from the past and are never as sacred as the memory or remembrance itself. To "sanctify" love or knowledge is not blasphemy, but rather, it is a celebration and appreciation of the gifts we have been bestowed by God.

U could also go for a fourth option - the concept of 'sacred' means little or nothing, Thomas Hobbes wrote 'the more science is proven, the more religion is weakend', Science holds nothing as sacred, it only sees facts. The whole concept of 'sacred' is an idea, humans put value on things - nothing has a value on its own, humans are the ones that decide what is valueable/sacred. Take gold for instance, what if everyone thought gold was worthless would people still dig and pay huge amounts of money for it?
In the same sense, what if everyone thought the Bible was a great moral story but thats all it was, a story? would people still kill over religion?
Something that is considered sacred by someone is not objective, it is subjective - all three of your answers are correct if u apply it in the right context or to the right person!
