NFL's Way of the future!

#1
11 Bradlee Van Pelt, Quarterback

Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 220 lbs.
College: Colorado State
Born: in Owosso, Mich.
Acquired: D7-04
Pro Year: 1st
Year with Broncos: 1st
NFL Games Played/Started: 0/0
Postseason: 0/0

I don't know how well known he is on the national level, but here in Colorado he is quickly becoming our next Golden boy!

He used to dazzle us as the QB for CSU, then we where able to retain him on the Broncos last season tying him down to the Practice squad, Seems that was a great move for all involved for he has now been Catapulted to the backup QB position. And after his eye opening performance in last nights pre-season contest against the Huston Texans he has started a QB Controversy in the minds of most fan’s as the Media tries to avoid the fact.

Van Pelt allows the Team to open up the offence and cause LB’s and DB’s to keep an eye on him due to his brake away speed. On I believe his second play from scrimmage last night they called a QB Draw that turned out to be a 40 yard dash by Van Pelt.

So be ready to meet the NFL’s next Superstar by midseason ;)

You know who else was supposed to be good? Ryan Leaf
that comment makes you look like two things

1) Idiot
2) Hater/Raider fan.

this situation is compleatly diffrent, Ryan Leaf was the big dog coming out of school, But almost immediately after stepping foot onto a NFL practice field his career ended by his lack of maturity.
The Van Pelt situation is more the Converse, Van Pelt though excitable and undoubtedly very athletic was all but overlooked by the entire NFL, only to show that a year learning the system with patience pays great dividends.

Just wait and see, as long as Van Pelt dose not get an Injury he will be a highlight regular.

I'm neither an idiot nor a hater nor a Raider fan. I just laugh at how fans put all their hopes into one player when he hasn't done shit in the pros.

then you should express that, rather then drawing some half assed compairson.

I have a pretty good feel for who can go to the next level and who can not.

We shall see soon enough who is correct.

I'm not saying he won't be successful. I'm just saying don't get your hopes up so high.

The Ryan Leaf comparison wasn't half-assed either. What I was saying was that success on the college level doesn't always translate into success in the pros.

1) I will have my hopes as high as I myself am if I so desire, I have been wrong and I have been correct in the past.

It is fun to be right about guys like this.

2) The Van Pelt and Leaf Comparison as I already explaned is not an accurate one.

Leaf=#1 Draft choice
Van Pelt= 7th Round draft choice

I must agree with Amer on this one. While Van Pelt may look like the "future", as you so kindly put it, lets not forget the hype that surrounds young QB's, and lets not forget the amount of failures that have come from it.

And also, you can't believe he'll be starting by mid-season. I mean.. the game he played, like you said, was pre-season, against the Texans. Pre-season games mean nothing once week 1 rolls around.

lets not forget all the players that live up to the hype!

other points I would like to make,

1) Comes from NFL genes, Father was a Linebacker.

2) The Way he carrys himself, winning attitude can go a long way.

3) I agree I can not say for sure that he will be starting come mid season due mainly to money ane politics, but the broncos have someone to put in if jake is throwing INT's.

This is what a Teamate said of Van Pelt from another board where I made the same topic.

LOL @ this thread, BVP looked good last night no doubt. I got in the game last night for a minimum amount of plays, I was used as a blocking slot reciever. BVP imo is a guaranteed lock for the #2 spot, even though Kanell played pretty well last night. Like Sylint said & I could see it last night too, is that the coaches are trying to give spots to players without playing everyone. But we won, I'm not trippin we have more games left & I know my time is coming.
