NFL vs Rugby issue

K seen as Bank Robber keeps on calling me an idiot an tried to avoid answering my questions by saying NFL is a league an not a sport I think you'll find it is sport, sport is by definition a Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively so until NFL ceases to exist it will continue to to be a sport. All league means is that they compete in a league comprising of a specific number of teams it's still a sport is it not?

I'm female and even I know that the NFL is a league, not a sport. Football, baseball, soccer, tennis, basketball, etc are sports. NFL stands for National Football League. It is a league of teams of a specific sport, not a sport itself.

NFL is called the sport of Gridiron.

Saying it's a league makes no sense what-so-ever because it's a sport, it's played and is governed by a set of rules. People can call it a league all they want, but we have a sport called Rugby League (it is NOT Rugby/Rugby Union) and we call it a sport too.

By the way,

Rugby League > NFL > Rugby Union.

My reasons? Faster, more contact, better skills and the hits that happen in it make NFL look weak. (And I like NFL, Id never call it weak but when comparing with Rugby League im left with no choice sorry).

Rugby Union is too slow and messy, League is the best contact sport. I guarantee it, watch a couple of games and you'll love it. Many American and Canadian friends whom came over a few years ago thought Rugby League was a joke until the watched a few games. Now they are mad Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys supporters respectively.

Look, a sport is a sport. Hockey is a sport, but the NHL isn't a sport, it's a professional hockey league. Same with NFL, and same with Rugby League. You may call it a sport, but thats not what it is.. That's like saying that all the different leagues in soccer are their own sport. They are not, they are just different leagues that play the same sport. And I'm not going to get into the argument of which sport is better or tougher again, but if you think football hits are weak you're watching the wrong game lol.
