Technology Need Some Help. I'm Pissed

I need some help here guys. I have a Compaq Presario 500 laptop with Windows Vista. I need to get rid of this fucking annoying touchpad because it fucks up my typing (I have a regular mouse that I use instead). I've already gone to the control panel, clicked on mouse and all that shit and the option to disable the touchpad is greyed out. Now there is an option to uninstall it which I have tried to do several times but obviously it's not working because the touchpad is still enabled. I googled this and found a lot of people have this problem. I tried downloading some links to disable the touchpad as well. I'm not getting anywhere. This is driving me insane. Can anyone help?

step two: install something other than vista until microsoft gets all the bugs out that have been reported by the testers....err...i mean the general public

my laptop has a button on top of the touchpad which you press and it disables the mousepad... and i have an HP so compaq should be somewhat similar..

i have a hunk of shit laptop thats about 5 years old and mine can disable the touch pad.
