Technology Need Help with LAN Connection

Ok I got this Intel pro/wireless 2011B LAN USB Device for a wi-fi connection, ok when i hook it up and try to install it says it's looking for the lan connection and then it's says it won't connect...i have another wi-fi hooked up on my other comp. but this one won't seem to work?
