The drafts top story: four Tar Heels go in the lottery.
My Charlotte Bobcats were able to pick up two of them . My favorite college player (Raymond Felton) and the Final Four MVP (Sean May) will both be flaunting Bobcat uniforms. In my opinion, these were two great picks. First, the youngest team in the league gets instant leaderhsip and experience in two NCAA champions. The Tar Heel factor will put people in the seats. Also, the Bobcats now have a solid three man rotation on the 4 and 5 spots with May, Okafor, and Brezec. Somebody said it before on here - Felton will be Rookie of the Year. The man is in a great position to put up big numbers scoring and dishing inside to two of the greatest post presences to come out of college in recent years.
No surprise in the top two. Bogut fills Milwaukee's size need and Marvin Williams (Tar Heel #1), the most talented playe rin the draft, goes to Atlanta. Deron Williams fits Utah's system, but New Orleans lucks out and gets the better overall player in Chris Paul. Martell Webster is a great talent that will fit Portland's need. The only issue is will he be able to develop in that debacle of a team. The worst pick was by far Toronto taking Villanueva. He should've have been late first round. Too inconsistent for number 7. Then, at 14, Minnesota gets the ultimate offensive complement to Kevin Garnett in Rashad McCants (Tar Heel #4). He'll be able to help them right away and puts them back at the top tier of the West.
I also like Antoine Wright for New Jersey. He helps with their depth on the wing, and after Jefferson went down last year, New Jersey realized that depth is important.
One more note. If Jawad Williams (Tar Heel #5) goes in the second round, he, along with Salim Stoudamire, could be the steals of the draft.
