The drafts top story: four Tar Heels go in the lottery.

My Charlotte Bobcats were able to pick up two of them :D. My favorite college player (Raymond Felton) and the Final Four MVP (Sean May) will both be flaunting Bobcat uniforms. In my opinion, these were two great picks. First, the youngest team in the league gets instant leaderhsip and experience in two NCAA champions. The Tar Heel factor will put people in the seats. Also, the Bobcats now have a solid three man rotation on the 4 and 5 spots with May, Okafor, and Brezec. Somebody said it before on here - Felton will be Rookie of the Year. The man is in a great position to put up big numbers scoring and dishing inside to two of the greatest post presences to come out of college in recent years.

No surprise in the top two. Bogut fills Milwaukee's size need and Marvin Williams (Tar Heel #1), the most talented playe rin the draft, goes to Atlanta. Deron Williams fits Utah's system, but New Orleans lucks out and gets the better overall player in Chris Paul. Martell Webster is a great talent that will fit Portland's need. The only issue is will he be able to develop in that debacle of a team. The worst pick was by far Toronto taking Villanueva. He should've have been late first round. Too inconsistent for number 7. Then, at 14, Minnesota gets the ultimate offensive complement to Kevin Garnett in Rashad McCants (Tar Heel #4). He'll be able to help them right away and puts them back at the top tier of the West.

I also like Antoine Wright for New Jersey. He helps with their depth on the wing, and after Jefferson went down last year, New Jersey realized that depth is important.

One more note. If Jawad Williams (Tar Heel #5) goes in the second round, he, along with Salim Stoudamire, could be the steals of the draft.

Gerald Green to Boston... BIG steal... can play the 2 or 3...also makes you wonder about Pierce's future, even though Doc Rivers said Pierce isn't going anywhere.

Rumors are Nate Robinson to NY in the Q-Rich/Thomas trade.

Hodge to Denver - great fit for them.. "Harlem on the rise " :D

I was definitely feeling the Knicks picks. I think Channing Frye is a nice pickup and will help to fill the void at the center position. David Lee was a good selection too, the thing I noticed about him is he plays a lot like a young Kurt Thomas, maybe the Knicks were trying to fill the void in the post that they were losing by gaining Lee. Dijon Thompson was also a nice pickup at 54. I believe that he and Trevor Ariza were teammates at UCLA, so that's cool that they get to play together in the L.

Do they mention that Bogut is Australian over there or not? Its been all over the news here.
From watching the same telecast of what those in the US get, it is very much highlighted, but what I thought was interesting was that they mention his Croatian roots almost as much as the fact that he is Australian. In his interviews that they showed, he stated that he was "very proud of being Australian and Croation", so they definately are stating it but I don't think they would be going to the extent that I imagine the Australians are talking about it (but I don't know because I have been keeping out of the news for about a week, so I haven't seen anything about him).

I really hope Minnesota's pick doesn't have the extra baggage that he is claimed to have, I just can't believe they chose McCants with Green and Hakim Warrick still on the board :(...and I really do wonder how the logjam at the 1 and 2 is going to be resolved (McCants, Cassell, Hudson, Hassell).

^hey hey hey, no need to bag on Villanueva. Though I am a UConn fanatic, I agree with Toronto's #7 choice being terrible. Granted, I didn't look at one single mock draft, but after watching a lot of college ball and then hearing he was entering the draft, I was thinking late first-early second round. He won't be anything in the NBA until he gets a real post game and stops thinking he can play the perimeter. Definately not going to turn that franchise around, he's far from ready.

I disagree with the Raptors choice of Villanueva being TERRIBLE. I think everyone is overlooking the fact that Villanueva and Bosh are both very versatile players and one could very well play out of position. I think the Raptors had one of the best drafts, to be honest. They got Roko Ukic, who many consider to be a great steal. They also got Uros Slokar and Mr. Everything Joey Graham. The Raptors took a great leap in the rebuilding process.

^i wouldn't say that, schools like that and duke always get the best incoming freshmen classes. with barely any high schoolers entering, you never know what kind of talent they could get.
