I remember when I was a kid I couldn't wait for the all star weekend. Watching the dunk contest live like Vince Carter's dunks that one year. Brent "Bones" Barry dunking from the free throw line, Harold "Baby Jordan" Miner was supposibly the next Jordan and so forth.

But now I could really care less about the all star game and the NBA to tell you the truth. My favorite players to watch are all retired Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, James Worthy, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley. Back in those days defense was a priority and the games were free to watch on NBC. Fucking cable.

I didnt see the Dunk Contest, but what ive been reading in other forums is that Andre shouldve won.
Andre pulled off the best dunk in the contest when he should have not. He should have waited till the very end. People are saying that Andre should have won based on that dunk and based on the fact that one of the judges, on andre's last dunk, substituted a ten for a nine. However, the score would have still been tied. Regardless of that, the reason Nate won is because he showed immense persistence and his LAST dunk was better than Andre's LAST dunk. Andre used up all his tricks and when it was time to pull off his last dunk, he merely took Kobe's advice, and went baseline and did a windmill. He didn't have any more tricks up his sleeve. Now, I may be a short guy and I might be biased because Nate is from around here and I played ball with him a couple of times, but damn, he deserved it.

best dunk of the night behind the backboard goddamn
Agreed. His dunks were better and the fact that Robinson took like 40 attempts should've given him second place.

It's the completed dunk that counts, not all of the attempts...:thumb:

The dunk contest Was Good, But if Lebron was in it. it would have been The best since Vince Carter an T-Mac.

What the hell is Lebron's Problem. why dont he Participate, The dunk contest needs Him. What is he afraid that he'll sprain his wrist. The man is gonna be in the next 14 all star appearances. He needs to listen to his fans an just do it for 1 year. It Aint the end of the world Lebron.

(Next Years Dunk contest) 1. Nate Robinson (defending his title)
2. Lebron James. 3. Jason Richardson. 4. Vince Carter.

That right there would be the tightest dunk contest since MJ an Dominique.

Just not the same. I remember when Jordan, Wilkins, Carter, etc were in the slam dunk competition. The best of the best dunkers were in the dunk competition. Now today its called rising stars aka no real NBA stars. I bet you I can back them up with ratings but I am not going to poop on the party. Back in the days it was the NBA as the #1 sports market in the USA now its the NFL. Times have changed.

Do you know the rules of participating in the slam dunk contest? Apparently not.

The West did loose and no Lebron should have been the MVP as he was.

As far as Dunk contest goes, i want to see big name players. Lebron,Wade,Carter,Richardson. I thought Lebron should have been this years dunk contest as well as lasts and the year before that.

Im just making a point, dont make excuses for lebron. He needs to Participate in a Slam dunk Contest. the dunk contest needs him.

Knowing Lebron he's probably taking a page from The Waterboy.
