My National Pride

Bush has ruined my sense of being proud to be an American.
As I'm about to venture out to Europe for 2 weeks I come to face the idea that I am not proud to say "I'm American." I love my country, I love the people, but i do not love our leaders. He has made it so the American Dream doesn't exist. He has made it so that 75% of my community is in fear of terrorism. He has made it so that half the world hates us. Made it so that when i go to France and such i will be embarrassed to say "I'm an American." I feel as if the majority of this world looks down upon us, as if we are all evil people and Bush is our leader. He makes us look like we are just consuming people who care nothing about no one else. We used to be the envy of all Nations and now we have come to this. Blood hungry people who will do anything for "Freedom." Friends who have just returned from abroad have told me about encounters and how what they are doing is something no one can be proud of, and it makes this even worse. Cus now i hear from people i know and respect and they tell me that this whole "war" is pointless. My pride was their and now it is being diminished because my Nation is now becoming something that we used to fight against. Am I wrong for thinking this, do other Americans think this?

bush did not turn our country into less than what it use to be. he did not single handedly do this. stop putting blame on one person. this is the result of crappy adminstrations before bush, and jihadist (i dont give a shit how its spelt). there is no war on terrorism. its a jihadist war that was declarded by islamic extremist in the early 90's. many authors have written books on the subject for many years but get stopped from getting published do to islamic gangsters. people are affraid of these islamic jihadist , and for good reason. bush and blair our the only ones with enough balls to say fuck you. other countries are scared of them and give into what they want. we will not. this is a new type of holy war that will be bigger than the crusades.

people may hate our govt, but they dont hate the people.

fuck em all. live you life. and dont give a fuck what anyone thinks about cause they are probably wrong anyways.

Don't worry, people hated your country long before Bush. I hated your country more when Clinton was in office. On a serious side, be proud of what you are no matter what your government does, lol. Besides, when you go venture out to Europe, there's no point in saying, "I'm proud to be an American." Just act natural.

ok, this here ^^ is crap..so let me point out two things:

1)"people may hate our govt, but they dont hate the people"

"they" also hate the people who support bush...people like yourself i guess.

2)"fuck em all. live you life. and dont give a fuck what anyone thinks about cause they are probably wrong anyways"

that could probably be the motto of bush himself. ignorance at his finest.

Well Aristotle at least you've accepted when many still deny, on the whole, the world hates America.

ToopackShaker had the best advice really because no-one has a problem with Canadians.........except Americans of course.

^See, you heard wrong. Every high school in America has a World History class.
is it a mandatory class or is an optional, cuz in canada u learn bout "world history" in normal history classes. If "World History" is an optional course in the states its not the same and many kids wudnt take the course, resultin in less people less educated on other cultures, religions, etc. Which results in racism, prejudice and ignorance

World History is a mandatory class in High School.

You dont want my kind here???
You dont want success, you just want death?
See my problem with Americans.......too ignorant to see anything, once they think something it is a sin to stray from it. Hopeless.

Mandatory class, like English, for example. Racism stems from personal experience just as much as it does because of lack of knowledge about other cultures.
