First impression: I could've done without the terrible intro and the (poorly done) doomsday undertones, it just makes it feel like propaganda. If Islam takes over Europe I'll only be worried if it's done in the way Christianity did. I wouldn't have a problem with the European culture disappearing, just certain ideals and freedoms. But as an agnostic this video isn't aimed at me, this is about the Christian religion taking a backseat.

As far as I'm concerned the power and influence of religions should be minimized in Europe. And no, I'm not an atheist.
Also, Islam is the one making the most harm at the moment, not Christianity.
That tendency described there is obvious and kind of worries me but not really that much yet. I hope that in a civilized place it's harder to be brainwashed so maybe it's a good way of civilizing Islam.

While I agree that the video is presented with strong Christian undertones I think the repercussions of such a scenario are more than just "Christian religion taking a backseat" and more to do with Islamic culture and laws being pressed apon European people and culture.

1)

European Union:

27 countries! Not 31 as mentioned in the video.

2)

Germany: "It will be a muslim state by the year 2050".

I dont remember reading about such a comment by the Statistics Office. It would have caused an uproar.

I can only really talk about the UK.... But amongst the natives, religion is dying out. I don't know anybody that goes to Church. Obviously we have a high level of immigration. And a lot of these people come from countries where rekigion is important. I see the Mosques full to bursting still when I drive past. But, the younger generation, those born into western culture, seem less keen on religion. It is still there. But rather than it take a hold of the UK, it will die out in the next couple of 100 years I reckon.....

The rest of Europe isn't quite so progressive though. I know Germany is. But France, Spain, Italy, Portugal.... Still hold old values highly. And I'd imagine Eastern Europe is even worse.

I said the point of the video was the Christian religion taking a backseat. For any other discussion the video is too biased and lacks much real information. I'm 100% sure the numbers are wrong as well. If 2 muslim parents have a child the child will automatically be counted as muslim, although the child might end up adhearing to another belief system. If the parents are only cultural muslims (kind of the like the Christians that say "oh ya I'm Catholic" "I'm Protestant" but spend most of their time doing everything God forbids and then go to church once to sooth their conscience) they're still counted as muslims. Those people will have 0 impact on laws and not necessarily a negative influence on culture.

Well, like you mentioned, Mosques and Islam are fit to burst in the UK. My dad reads UK newspapers online and it was only a few years ago that he said he read about extremists saying something along the lines that soon all British women will be wearing burkhas and Islam will reign supreme. It isn't the only place that's heard these statements, but it's chilling that it's happening just about everywhere. Why is it that Christianity and Islam seem to be breeding the most extremists? I haven't seen a Hindu or Jew extremist. Or Buddhist one either. I know they're the two biggest ones, but not by THAT much. Surely we would have seen some of the smaller religions have more extremists by now considering Hinduism is one of the oldest ones.

And Gandhi was shot by a Hindu. These were lone gunmen and not organised 'large-scale' groups.. which is what I think smacky is referring to

Sounds like your dad was reading a scare story from a right wing paper like the Daily Mail designed to stir the pot.

The fact remains that outside of the 10 or so major cities in England, there aren't any Muslims. Anywhere.

Go outside of London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Bradford, Leeds, Sheffield, Bristol, Leicester and you won't find very many.

Or, to put it another way.... as per the Census, over 90% of the population of the United Kingdom is white.

Given that statistic, ANY story you hear about extremism, or even just Islam in general being on the rise, has to be considered within it's proper context.

How many countries allow Extremists the voice they have in the UK, though? During remembrance Sunday some Muslim extremists burnt a poppy. Shows the mentality and intelligence. If people have such an issue with the country they live in, why not leave? We all know the answer..... Because who the fuck would swap the UK for a backwards country in the middle east.

I agree though. Outside of the South East and the major cities, the population is mostly white, and by a large number...

There are tons of extremist Jews. Hell, Rabin was shot by a Jew.

Yeah, that was the idea. There are plenty of extremists in every religion. I honestly can say I have never met a Hindu or Buddhist one. Or even a Jewish one. And I've know plenty of Hindus and Jewish people throughout high school. But I still understand that they are out there. But like you said, forming groups and being as outspoken as a lot of Islamic and Christian extremist groups are/have been around the world, I most definitely have not seen that.

Jews are everywhere. In every institution and have influence in every country. They don't need to be extremists. Some may say that they cause a large amount of extremism.

We have a law against inciting racial hatred, so those people are committing criminal acts and could be kicked out the country the same way that Abu Hamza was. So that's something. On these types of issues, although I'm definitely a liberal, this country could probably take a tougher approach.
